This is Not the Grand Central car park. Seems a bit of a scam to make you think your parking in the correct place. This is New St parking. If your parking for the holiday inn, this is the wrong car park. Very Tight parking slots and difficult to drive round. I'd Avoid this unless your desperate.

Horrendously expensive for the quality of car park. All the spaces are very narrow, barely accommodating for the width of any car from the last 20 years. All cars move up and down the car park using the same ramps and paths. It is not wide enough to allow for this and during busy times you often have to reverse to maneuver around people.Additionally while walking down the stairs my partners foot got caught on some loose lining that has clearly been neglected for a very long time and almost fell down the stairs. (See photos)Arguably what makes this experience worse is that we weren't even surprised. NCP car parks all over the UK are consistently terrible and used out of desperation most of the time. But this was even worse

This carpark is great for the Alexandra theatre. They've cleaned it up a lot, with better lighting and a person who mops the stairwells. It is very pricey if your here for along stay. £2.95 an hour. A trip to theatre will cost nearly £12 if you just go and watch the show and return to your car. I only use this car park for convenience. The parking bays are narrow, with plenty of post. If your going to the theatre, make sure to arrive early. This place fills up pretty quick.

Conveniently located next to the theatre. Bit pricey in my view - but then it is an inner city car park. Spaces are very tight to fit as many cars in as they can. I donate blood in Birmingham and they offer 2 hours free for using this car park. I’ve always eventually found a space. However, one time after leaving the theatre, we paid at the pay machine as we got back to the car park, went straight up to our car, but there was obviously a lot of people leaving and it took us like 30 minutes to get to the exit. The hold up was due to the fact that as cars got to the barrier, the system said they owed more money as they’d taken too long to leave! There was a guy there letting people out, but he seemed to be saying to everyone that they owed money, which clearly no-one (including us) were prepared to pay more when the problem was due to the queue.

Car broken into absolutely gutted but more so when the police were already there because multiple other cars broken into. £30 over night stay and £100s of loss and damages. All the barriers and security of getting in with tickets clearly are a bunch of rubbish. Even when we came back homeless people all asleep in the stairs. Park elsewhere to avoid your windows being smashed in and entire car contents taken.

Almost trapped in the lift today at this car park, faulty lift which is the only one available. Be aware if needing disabled access. Smells strongly of urine in stairwells and tiny spaces which are impossible to open door, even with small car. Overpriced, use the Grand Central CP at train station, cheaper and safer.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Park absolutely anywhere else but here! We stayed parked here for 2 nights, coming to going home, and our car and 10 others had been broken into causing alot of damage to windows and windscreens, police didn't seem bothered as around 20 cars had been done in total and there was no staff around even though it states its patrolled, Says cctv in operation but the only cctv we saw was at the entrance and says secure but the front is accessible to basicy anyone.

With central seat reservations at a packed theatre, 1 hour journey down through the A38, arrival into a closed entrance at this car park was a magnificent way to make yourself late while having to find a place to park elsewhere.

Absolutely awful car park. Do not park here!!!I pre-booked a space here online for £11.80 for 2.5 hours to see a show at the Alex. When I arrived at the car park, the machine would not recognise the provided QR Code no matter how many times I tried. I pressed the button in case that was also needed and a paper ticket was dispensed, which I assumed was linked to the QR code. When I returned to the car park, the QR code still would not scan and, on using the paper ticket previously dispensed, the payment machine said that I had to pay £10.80. I had to pay this as there was a long queue forming behind me and I had to get a relative home as they were feeling tired.I eventually got to the ticket barrier to exit, after an awful queue down the dangerously narrow car park ramps, but the barrier would not raise when I tried both the QR Code and paper ticket multiple times. I pressed the help button and eventually customer services were able to let me out using the QR Code reference, all the while whilst a large queue formed behind me beeping away.As for the car park itself, it is awful. The single ramp is too narrow for both up and down, particularly for large cars. This meant that there were huge queues as people struggled to enter and exit the car park and at every turn for the ramp as the turning circle was too tight for two cars. It took us over 40 minutes to leave the car park and that was only from Floor 2. The spaces themselves are very narrow, especially if you have a larger vehicle. The barriers and payment machines are clearly not fit for purpose. All in all, it has cost me £22 for 2.5 hours parking.Edit: it's been over a month and no response to my complaint by NCP
