Earthwise Construction

After researching Bristol based contractors capable of delivering a complex Passivhaus project for Goldfinch Create and Play, we came across Ben from Earthwise Construction. Ben and his team have exceeded our high expectations (having already received such positive feedback from their previous clients).Their experience with timber framed construction and technologies such as MVHR systems meant they were well suited for the project and many common issues were avoided.All projects have their challenges however the site manager, Bruin, would phone up with solutions. The Earthwise team and their subcontractors worked together in a collaborative way and created a great atmosphere on site. Due to the team's skill set they were able to manufacture the joinery to a very high standard (including the coffee bar, shelving and slatted screens). This aided their ability to keep to the programme, as during times when subcontractors were taking over the site, they were able to continue diligently in the workshop pre-fabricating the joinery. I'm really looking forward to working with Earthwise again on future projects and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Earthwise Construction was an absolute pleasure to work with, from the projects inception and early discussions around how we would achieve our vision of creating a PassivHaus art cafe thatwould encompass our values and intentions in terms of our commitment to the environment. Benand his team delivered much more than expected, if issues arose, they would be part of problemsolving, coming up with solutions as a team. I was very pleased to have worked with Ben and his team on an MVHR install in a new build property. I found Ben via online research and arranged an appointment to meet him, I was impressed with his technical knowledge specific to the MVHR system but also I learnt about his broader skills and knowledge with how the unit and duct would physically be fitted into the house this was important as we had a separate main contractor build the house and I needed to ensure they could work well together. The main contractor commented that he found Ben and his team at Earthwise Construction pleasant to work with and was pleased with their efforts as much as we where. With any construction project there are hiccups along the way, issues caused on both sides that are unforeseen but Ben was very accommodating and fair. Working with Earthwise on our eco-home has been a real treat. Ben and the team have been professional and timely throughout the project. The whole 1st fix install was done in just 2 days! and the final commission process took just a few hours.Our MVHR is whisper quiet and super efficient! We could not be happier with the results or the way Earthwise worked with us.Our project wasn't smooth sailing, they worked with us through some long delays caused by covid and Brexit without any issues, even when some support was needed at the last minute. We had a MVHR system installed into our 1930s house in September 2023 as a part of our attempts to make the place much more eco-friendly. The team were excellent to work with and very helpful. Be aware that it's quite a disruptive process and that you might need to quite a lot of remedial work afterwards, but they were careful to ensure that we knew about this beforehand (see some before and after pictures). The system is working well and we now have really good air quality (verified by a friend with some air quality measuring equipment). Now we just have to do more insulating and airtightness work to get the full benefits...
