TY Nant Private Bird Hide and Dog Walking Meadow

I stayed at Ty Nant recently for 3 nights, off-grid in my camper van with my 2 dogs. It was a truly wonderful experience, with so much space all to ourselves, stunning views, the dogs loved it and I didn’t want to leave! Stephen and Jean are just the loveliest, kindest couple, always on hand if needed but left us to it the rest of the time. Stephen was amazing when I got my van stuck in the mud, coming to the rescue with his tractor and a tow strap. Jean provided a big metal fire pit, a whole wheelbarrow full of wood with kindling, firelighters etc. There was also a fridge, microwave etc in the caravan we were welcome to use, but didn’t need.Not only did we have the whole meadow with the bird hide and stream all to ourselves, but we were able to walk in the adjacent fields too! It was brilliant! The dogs loved the freedom and it was a memorable ‘wild with consent’ camping trip, we will absolutely definitely be returning. Loved everything about it.

Lovely eco-farm we found on way home from Hay on Wye Festival!For a small fee, we chatted to Steve the friendly farmer, who took us to see the Red Kite nest, and into a nearby field to watch the Kites flying surrounded by sweet lambs, before going to the small hide to see siskins and other small birds too.In time a more disabled friendly hide, and maybe a tent on the field so kites could not see us, but all in all a delightful morning!

Stayed here for bank holiday weekend, absolutely loved it! As wild camping goes it is brilliant. Access to stream, water and fire wood.. what else do you need :). Lovely hosts, very helpful.
