Brownsea Island Campsite
We stayed in a Bell tent equipped with proper bedding and home comforts. The Bell tent was on a wooden base and located on a secluded plot visited by ducks and peacocks. With views of the waters of Poole Harbour and the stillness of the night on the island it was idyllic.

Great place for a visit to Brownsea, but bring all the food and drink you need. No shops or delivery to the site. The walk from the Quay on the East end of the Island, so its takes abou 30 mins to walk. The west end of the campsite is the original site for the Baden Powell camp. Ensure you have anti insect and tick repellent if camping as there are lots of deer around and the deer have infected the red squirrels with tick bourne disease such as Lyme's disease. Lyme's disease is about 10 times more infectious in the Purbecks than the nation as a whole. So beware those cute deer are a really threat to your health.

Stunning island with a Mediterranean feel. Nice size bell tents with all the items you need. Red squirrels and peacocks can be seen. Lots of space and hidden locations to get away from the crowds.Down side plenty of walking between amenities if that’s not your thing and luggage carrying. And lots of ants.
