Carmarthenshire County Council

Poor public service and communication, if you phone you're on hold for 30+ minutes. Even when you report something through the Hwb there's no communication back. I found this especially the case when it comes to refuse collection - it's appalling.

I wouldn't even give it one star ! A simple 'what are the swimming times available for my grandchildren next week '. A totally useless website and no one available to speak to you when you actually find the Johnstown leisure centre. I'm fed up talking to robots ...I want old fashioned customer service .

One star is being far too generous!! Does not even deserve that...unable to get through to the phone line to speak to a human, and when e-mailed them, council very unsupportive about individual needs, health and safety of public members. Council does not deserve a penny from my hard earned money. Very poor service...such a shame!!

I have sent E_mails to C. C. C. and have not yet had the courtesy of a reply. They were from the beginning of November and were to be answered in 10 days. No replies to follow up mails either.I can understand delay but a simple mail explaining the reason why, would be welcomed

Carmarthenshire County Council only knows how to screw households with hefty tax increases! Ours have gone up by a whopping £180 in the 2023/24 ! How do they justify it ? It can only point to mismanagement from the very top ! It then cascades down to every level! One only needs to observe Council road works where one reads the newspaper or dosing off, one stands watching etc. My sister and her husband live in Hayes which comes under Hillingdon Borough Council. It gives 10% discount to pensioners irrespective of household incomes which was backdated to years when they first found out. It also had the enviable reputation of not raising Council tax for some 12 years running ! Carmarthenshire County Council should be ashamed of its gross mismanagement! It’s after all taxpayers‘ money that they mess about with!

1 star and that's being extremely generous. I have never been blackmailed and threatened so much in my entire life. The staff couldn't care less about the law infact they believe that they are the law. People really need to start asking questions about where their money is going and start refusing to pay their council taxes. I am being forced out of my temporary accommodation through no fault of my own to go into another temporary accommodation in which I can't agree to the terms or be thrown onto the streets. People really need to start asking questions about what they are paying for it took me suffering a mental health breakdown to get where I am now.

The library service deserves praise. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff. Easy to order books online and I appreciate being able to return books to any library. Very good support for children - particularly during school holidays.

I only gave 1 star as you had to put something down. What on Earth are we paying Council Tax for. Services cut, emails and complaints not listened too.Back in February I submitted a report as I had not received blue bags and a bottle tub. Three reports later and a complaint and its still not resolved. I even offered to go and pick it up oh you cant do that" ..........Unbelievable"

Attitude of some staff are like stroppy kids. Council repairs are a joke. Show up when they feel like with no notice and pout if you turn them away. Been asking for 3 yrs for our fence to be repaired and had 3 inspectors look at it telling me it's rotten (duh) and it crush the kids next door if they are playing outside when it comes down. The Councillors are higher paid than Cardiff City Councillors. Not many look out for the county. Most are in it for themselves and their chums. Plaid are just Welsh tories in disguise. Look at that waste of money sign in the motorway. Ugly and a bit of weather and it's destroyed. Should of spent the quarter of a mil on a sign made of toilet paper, it would of lasted longer.

I have moved from Berkshire in England to a small Welsh village that’s under Carmarthenshire council .the roads are just amazing compared to what I’m used to and when works are done they take weeks at most in Bracknell they spent two and a half years redoing a small round a bout .I had a question about planning permission and they have been amazing in helping on that on the phone and by email .The hospitals are out of this world my mothers had serious medical issues which for three and a half years the doctors and hospitals in Berkshire didn’t find or care about , you can’t even make appointments with doctors in Bracknell or talk to them ,Here we phones up and appointment the same day or day after sent to hospital to specialist a few days after the tests they did and a week later they had worked out what it was and started to sort it out left any longer my mother would have gone blind and had a stroke as that’s the outcome of what she has if untreated.All the hospital staff were friendly and happy and offered drinks and food .All bin and recycling guys are friendly and speak to as do the police and even the traffic wardens are helpful and friendly just a different world from what we are used to
