About the Business
The Amnesty Bookshops | Amnesty International UK | Welcome to our second-hand bookshops, where the emphasis is on quality, value-for-money, and building community spirit. Few people know that the first Amnesty ‘Bookshop’ began as a stall based in the Hammersmith & City Line tube station, run by Amnesty members Dick Langton and Christine Pain to raise funds for local campaigns. We have come a long way since then, and today there are ten second-hand bookshops around the country, each with its own unique personality.

This bookshop is really well laid out and has a terrific selection of books especially in popular science, politics and philosophy. The owner helped me out with one or two I was looking and we found them very quickly. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

Great charity book shop. It had lots of stock when I visited and was really well organised. I managed to find two quite obscure books that I had been trying to get my hands on for a while. The prices are a bit higher than your usual charity shop, but it is hard to quibble when the cause is so good. I will be visiting again!

One of the best charity bookshops in South Edinburgh, with a wide range of books and a really enjoyable browsing experience due to the spacious and modern layout of the store itself. The quality of the books is also better than similar stores, which is reflected in the prices which I find to be a little higher than similar stores.
