Beautiful art gallery, tucked away in the picturesque seaside town of Wivenhoe. I met the owners who were lovely people, excellent service and the gallery itself is always brimming with new and exciting talent. Parking very close by too, easy!

Was delighted to discover this gem of a place on an unexpected visit to Wivenhoe. I had no idea that there was such a thriving artistic community here, and this stunning contemporary gallery space had a superb array of works, from ceramics to paintings to beautiful hand-crafted jewellery. The lovely owners even made me a cup of tea!

Emailed them about a picture, no reply. Caught train over there on Sunday morning only to be shouted at for bringing dog in with some nonsense about not being insured. Looks like a great gallery, pity about the owner.

The Sentinel has the most wonderful exhibitions by local artists. It's a bright, welcoming space, not at all stuffy. They raise money for fantastic charitable causes. And, it's in glorious Wivenhoe. What's not to love!

The charming Sentinel Gallery is a place you cannot skip on your Essex visit. The owners are amazing and the art they have is always exciting and bets for new emerging artists and also has established must see artists.
