Gretna Bakery

Just called into the bakery to buy lunch for three people. Asked to use the toilet and we were told no. Only available for customers of the café! We had already spent £7.25 we were about to buy cakes too. Needless to say we didn’t. The lady serving said it was the managers decision. In all honesty we did not walk in off the street just to use the toilet. Bad decision and no flexibility showed. I cannot recommend anybody go to this place to buy anything from the bakery if you would like to use the toilet.

Lovely bakery has so many items it's especially good as you can get genuine scotch pies and bridies absolutely lovely. Staff very helpful and you can have a cuppa while you choose good menu for the cafe side too well worth a visit if your near by. Highly recommend

Nice sausage, nice bacon. Cheap tomato sauce, weak coffee. Bought 5 breakfast sandwiches, 2 coffees and they moaned that my husband used the toilet when we weren't sitting in. Staff need to crack a smile.

What a delightful surprise! Friendly, efficient staff in a spotlessly clean town centre cafe. Excellent coffee and simple, well prepared food. Longtown might be off the beaten track but if you happen to be passing, as we were, it is well worth pausing at the Gretna Bakery.

Went for a breakfast between shifts at work. Incredible. All fresh food. Probably the best breakfast I've had in a while.

Coffee machine broke so only got one cappuccino(nice by the way) the other one was black. Cream buns were not fresh cream but were sqirty cream. The place was clean except for the waste bin in the toilet which was overflowing. Most of the staff were friendly and the prices are very reasonable.

Bread seems to be filled with only flower and some yeast and therefore not tasty. Carrot cake was nicely priced but tasted sulky and had a hair in it. Staff could be friendlier too.

Great food and good service all at a reasonable price.

After driving nearly 200 miles I went in to the cafe to use the toilet and purchase some more snacks for the next 100 miles of my journey. I was greeted by a very rude member of staff (who acted like to it even too much trouble to look up from moping the floor to make eye contact with me) who told me I couldn’t use the toilet as it was only for customers so I explained that I was also wanting to purchase food and her response was “the toilets are only for sit in customers” absolutely ridiculous, horrendous customer service and a stupid reason to turn away paying customers. Looking at previous reviews I am not the only one to have experienced this either.
