Rudyard Lake
What I liked about this place was the great family atmosphere! There are steam trains for the smaller children, boat rides, a great little cafe and walks around the lake. Not far from Leek. We went kayaking and paddled for about 4.miles, there and back. Really worth a trip

Great lake to take the dog for a walk or take the kids for a paddle. We went here yesterday and tried out our kayak for the 1st time and traveled the full lake. Cost was £12 for the day because we took our own. But price is £20 per hour to rent one and £10 per hour after that. Toliets onsite, food and drink avalible also. Peaceful place. Also has small steam train for the kids to enjoy. (Free parking when renting the boats)

Train leaves every half hour, 45 round trip. Jump off on the way back at The Dam to grab an ice cream and then 30 mins later get the train back to the car park. Great day out for kids if the weather is good.

Rudyard Lake
Beautiful place with superb views. East side of the lake is flat walking but west side is a bit hilly and not buggy friendly. The mini railway is fun but doesn't run very often so check timetables if you want to go on it.

Took my dog for a lovely walk along the lake, very picturesque, the miniature railway was also running. There are some good places for your dog to get access to and go into the water for a paddle, fully recommended here for a great outdoor walk

Just enjoyed a beautiful day walking around Rudyard Lake. It is a 5 mile walk. I think an easy one. All day parking cost £3. Would thoroughly recommend a trip there.

Rudyard Lake
Rudyard lake is a beautiful place for a family day out with various water sport activities or a slightly rocky public trail along the edge for adventurers. It is dog and child friendly with some parts requiring dogs to be on a lead however, not recommended for pushchairs. Wonderful views of the lake and boats can be seen along from the foot path including historic buildings, farm animals and rolling hills. There is a lovely little cafe at the start by the car park and is there once you complete the cirular trail. If arriving via bus like we did, the closest stop is called lakeland lodge and is about a 9 min walk to the lake.
