Superb service. Polite and friendly staff!Although it was a rather rare and unusual car type, they fitted a new exhaust in good time and decently priced. Everything went flawlessly - could not ask for more!Excellent garage, highly recommendable!

My BMW 5 Series broke down in St Andrews while on a weekend break and left me with little option but to leave it there as we made arrangements to get home which is over 100 miles away. To keep this brief, I had to put my faith in this garage and trust them to recover my car and repair it whilst I was 100 miles away at home. As a heating engineer, I'm no mechanic but I know problem solving and I knew myself this was going to be a tricky fault to diagnose and solve. I knew instantly Phil was knowledgeable and fully equipped to handle such problems. When I visited the garage he took me under the car to show me what had been carried out. Everything was explained very well. I can see from his workshop he is also investing in his business. A hardworking business and good manner as such will look after itself without google reviews but I thoroughly recommend E.J Cockburn & Son.

Having dealt with many mechanics in two different countries (the USA and the UK), I can say without a shred of doubt that Phillip runs the best, most honest garage I have ever found. Every time I brought my family's vehicles to him over the past three years, I got a truthful assessment of the situation and its costs as well as efficient and friendly service. It is evident that everyone who works at EJ Cockburn & Son takes great pride in their craft. This works itself out in a team of people working primarily for your trust and respect, rather than your money. On more than one occasion I simply brought my car in for some advice, and Phillip went out of his way to help and advise me on potential repairs or cost-effective preventative fixes. What's more, several times he didn't even charge me for this - the reason being, obviously, that he cared more about my return business and the mutual trust he works so hard to establish than a few extra quid. You will look in vain for a better garage.

Outstanding garage that exceeds usual expectations. MOT found my car had severe corrosion below which they gave sound advice about. Vauxhall ended up fixing it free of charge, saving me hundreds of pounds. Far better service than you would get at usual garages!

Straight forward and upfront service. Dealt speedily with my issues and at a fair price. Very willing to work around the fact that my car is a clapped out old banger and did quality work that wasn't requiring the most expensive parts the way a lot of garages in the area try for. Also gave me good advice on dealing with the old girl going forwards and told me exactly what I needed in terms of parts from the scrap yard for best results. At the same time another customers 1 year old Audi was getting fully tricked out parts replaced with an apparently equally happy customer. Can't ask for more than that.Top marks.

I have been using the dealer for the service and then MOT of my car for five years. They failed to check even the basic aspects of car service such as oil. Thanks to my neighbour, I was introduced to EJ Cockburn & Son last year. Since then I could not have been happier than what I am in relation to the sevice of my car. As soon as I collect my car, I notice the difference. The customer service is amazing too. They are also very kind and punctual. Keep doing good job!

Brought my diesel car in with a slow start problem, they promised to diagnose. They call next day to say they've found a faulty glow plug and have ordered parts and started repair (without any authorisation or letting me know!) and also say that they have snapped a glow plug at the head and offer expensive repair at my expense (several hundred quid, top of engine comes off). Only cheaper option is to leave the car with the broken glowplug in, and 'forget about it' (quote). Deny any responsibility and charge me for all extra time they had to do trying to fix a problem they caused and did not fix. Would never use again and would not recommend.

Philip at the garage helped me tremendously with my car after it broke down. He went above and beyond to get my car back on the road, despite being fully booked that day. I cannot thank him enough - he turned a really stressful situation upside down - and did it with a smile, friendly professionalism and humour!

Best garage I have ever used! Friendly, efficient and accurate family run garage. An absolute joy to use and trust them completely. They have been servicing my vehicles for 5 years and have helped me out numerous occasions!
