The Wheatsheaf Inn
Our daughter travelled over to us for the day , we googled a restaurant the wheatsheaf Inn bounced back at us ,it’s a place we’ve drove past countless times but never tried ????& I have to say after the service & meal we received Monday we’ve missed out on a charming welcoming experience with an obviously talented chefWe booked the table some days before , we arrived just after 12 to a very warm atmosphere insideThe food was exceptional all courses, the beverages again all good & the doombar on point very well kept & the price for the three of us very reasonable indeed we will certainly return .

Relatives booked us a table for a family gathering on 19/11/22 at 1pm. I didn't know what to expect as couldn't find a menu online prior to meeting up.Menu was just what I wanted - classic pub food, with a few modern dishes. I went for a 'huge' gammon... well worth the £13.95. There was a 'normal' sized gammon too, but that's not my style.Anyway, it was perfectly cooked. Couldn't fault it. Genuinely big, proper thick gammon, must have been an inch thick. Not like a chain pub where you get a bunch of weird thin little 4oz gammons or whatever. Nice homemade chips and a decent homemade coleslaw too.Rest of the table looked nice too, few relatives went for the pie of the day which turned out to be steak and Guinness, and I must say looked rather good.I can't comment on beers or anything as I had a 30 min drive there and back so I had Coke, can't really review that - I mean it was real Coke in a glass bottle, tasted like Coke should.I had a sticky toffee pudding for afters - and it was also rather good. Decent portion of pudding. Couldn't fault that either. Can't remember if it was £4.95 or £5.95. Either way it was a fair price for a decent bowlful of warming sticky toffee.Staff attentive, food was very nice and also I felt very reasonably priced for the quality and portion size.Other patrons were friendly, seemed like a nice community. All things considered it was a very nice meal, and very good value for money given the portions and quality. Even moreso specially in the current climate. It's a bit of a trek from Spalding but I'll definitely consider it for the next time I need a pub meal!

I booked a table for four people and our small dog who needs a buggy as he's old. I did explain to person on phone dog would be in a buggy. On arrival all three members of staff ignored me whilst l was waiting to tell them we were here. The table they gave us was directly behind the front door of tbe place which opened straight onto our table and dog in buggy. Not acceptable place to sit even without buggy. Lets face it who needs a door keep on opening onto your table when seated. We explained this and asked to be moved to another table please. No one was really bothered at all and when we suggested a table we were told no. One person did ask another member of staff and was told no got to sit at given table. So we politely said in that case we would leave and find somewhere else to go and spend our money. Wouldn't step foot in the place again.. Wasn't impressed at all, lack of enthusiasm or interest at all from the three staff members. We felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable after asking to please move to another table. Of which I may there were at least two. You need to educate your staff on common courtesy and communication skills.

Had a lovely meal here with family. The inn was warm, the staff were pleasant and the food was amazing. We had heard nothing but good reports about the food and we were pleased with just how good it was. Good portions and good price too. The staff were very busy which slowed down service a bit but nothing that is worth complaining about and completely understandable. The only grumble I did have is that they had run out of sticky toffee pudding but we will definitely be going back again soon. Go and try it for a meal, you will be pleased you did

Been recommended to us and we finally got to see for ourselves today. Beautiful place, really cosy, welcoming and clean. The staff were helpful and polite. My husband is gluten free but they have gluten free peroni and a range of dinners and desserts gluten free.I had steak, it was cooked to perfection and presentated beautifully at an amazing price! My husband had the huge gammon and again was beautifully cooked and presented amazingly with a very cheap price tag!!Best meal I've had in a good while and will definitely be back in the not so distant future and would definitely recommend 100%

Delicious freshly cooked food, big portion sizes and cheap prices. Paid the same amount at other restaurants nearby for half the food. Would highly recommend.
