Mungoswells Flour Mill

This is where the local wheat is turned into the most excellent flour. I enjoy baking, especially making (and eating) bread from Mungoswells flour.

Great value flour in bulk or small bags. Does the usual suspects, bread, plain etc but also Rye and Malted which I have already tried since buying band up to the superb standard of their other flours. In the past I have bought Supermarket bread flour with variable results. Now I only buy my bread flour here, in bulk. It's consistent but also tastes better. The bread has a nutty, bread taste, daft as that sounds. Much better structure. In the past bread was just something I put stuff on, jam, cheese, pickle etc. Now I tend to just have bread and butter. Why, it's flipping gorgeous. Also the staff are really friendly and chatty. Highly recommended.

Visited to pick up a bag of flour. Met by Alison who was lovely, full of energy and information (my kids loved her) As for the flour I've not used it yet

These people work so hard alison especially very friendly and try and people as much as they can

Purchased this flour from Loch Arthur farm shop and can honestly say, after making and baking bread for many years this is the best flour I have ever used. Can't wait to get more on my next holiday. Thank you Mungoswells

I bought whole meal flour direct from the mill and made sourdough bread. Its probably the best flour I have ever used. Top quality.
