We had a lovely meal at the Curry Queen. I chose a mushroom biryani, my husband had chicken shashlick, and our friends had a vegetable bhuna each. We also shared naans and vegetable side dishes: Brinjal Bhaji (aubergine) and Brinjal Bhaji (okra). The staff were very attentive too.

Friendly service from the start to opening the door arrival for complimentary drinks and hot wipes at the end of the meal. Delightful and authentic Indian cuisine. The prices reflect the food made with complete passion. Cannot recommend enough to anyone!

Papadam and chutney were amazing, one of the chutney was too salty. Curries tasted good but chicken portion was a bit little, kurma and tikka masala were a bit too sweet. Naan were quite good as well.

Curry Queen is the worst resturant I ever went to after coming to Cambridge. We went there on a Friday evening around 7, and it was a horrible experience. The moment you get your table, you should think like you are in an exam hall with a limited time to answer. Without even going through the menu, you have to oder something so that they can kick you out as soon as you finish your meal. You will be eating your dish under a huge pressure to finish it quickly and clear out as early as possible. To ensure that, their staffs will be patrolling you. And at the end you will recieve a bill (I got a handwritten one, finding it difficult to even read the items which I ordered) which will be over priced. As the items are not readable, you will find it difficult to calculate the total amount. Only thing you can do is clear out their place with a determination to never visit this place again.Taste of the food is below average. You can find even better taste at lower price in the nearby places. If you still wish to try this place just to experience the worst service, please take care to calculate the bill amount as you order each items. This will help you to save money as they overcharge at the end.

A nice and very spicy tasting rogan josh!We were quite squeezed into our table. Service was not too bad, most drinks were sorted quite quickly. Meals came out and were shouted out, but noise of the room made it had to know what was said and who it was for. Price is medium to high.

Incredible food, best Indian food in Cambridge (even better than Navadhanya in terms of pure taste in my opinion, at least in terms of the rice). The chilli paneer and egg rice are absolutely delicious, and the poppadoms together with the chutney are up there with the best I've ever tasted. The garlic naan was very good, and the potato curry was okay. Overall, a massive recommend" from me."

We had an excellent meal. The Curry Queen has an extensive menu of what I would call a typical curry house style. The staff were very attentive and we will definitely return!

If you're Pakistani / Indian / Bangladeshi, this place will disappoint you terribly. There was not a desi in sight when we went there and now we know whyLet's go through the good things first. The taste was okay. And they took 8 of us upstairs in a nice dining area which had a very nice vibe. That's about it.Everything else was wrong. Firstly, the head manager who received us had a weird attitude. Some of the other reviews capture that already so let's move on.We ordered a bunch of different curries and 2 of us were unfortunate enough to order butter chicken. It was sweet. Not like it had a tinge of sweetness to it. It was actually sweet. So painfully sweet. It wasn't a curry that had sugar, it was a dessert that had curry powder. Basically inedible. The rest of the curries tasted fine but it was the same chicken in each curry. My best guess is that they have a bunch of chicken marinated and cooked already and depending on what the order is, they just cut it up, mix it in with the sauce and hallelujah. And then the lamb. I'm assuming the lamb was precooked in a similar way and was tough as rubber. Couldn't be broken even after digging nails into it. When we called the head waiter and complained, he argued back about how he had 35 years of experience and it was supposed to be like this. He then said if he should take it back and have it cooked some more??? Like that would make rubbery lamb tender. He took it back and replaced it with a random chicken curry. That was edible atleast. Also Raita. The raita we got was just a cup of yogurt with black seeds sprinkled on top. Nice.TLDR: This place isn't for everyone. English people seem to enjoy whatever this place offers but I would highly encourage you to consider something else since the food and the overall experience leaves a lot to be desired.

Lovely Saturday night at Curry Queen. Warm welcome and attentive service throughout the meal. The food was honestly the best curry I have had in a really long time. I had the Lamb Ceylon with mushroom rice and my husband had a shatkora lamb with pilau. 100% recommend. Good prices too - we will be back!

Very bizarre experience - very rushed to order, some wait staff were friendly but others brusque and pushy.Meals were good, reasonably priced for vegetarian - but despite the constant rush from staff took over an hour to come out.Naan and rice were good but too expensive (rice especially).Interior lighting is a bit extreme (epilepsy warning) - seemed a good place for a session on the beers, but wouldn't go for dinner.Note that the chutneys given at the start are not complimentary - wasn't aware of this until we asked for the menu.
