Barberossa is a place for people passionate about getting a proper hair cut. The team are experienced in a range of styles and can work with difficult hair".I see Douglas once every 6 months for an afro cut and style. He does a fantastic job. No hack and slash like all other barbers

Easily the best barber in Edinburgh. Dougie is one of a kind. He's a genuinely lovely guy and always makes you feel like a valued friend when you're in his chair even from the first time you meet him. Not only that, but you'll get the best haircut you've ever had. Do yourself a favour and visit this place (you even get free beer while you're getting your cut)

Easily the best barber in Edinburgh!!! I have been going to Dougie now for about 4 years. I look forward to visiting every time and he has done wonders for my wavy hair. He is a master of his craft and both he and Logan are a fantastic team. I cannot go back to another barber. Great chat, great haircuts.

Before Douglas started cutting, he promised that he would give me my best ever cut. I didn't really believe him ... but that's what I got!!Excellent professional cut by someone who prides himself in doing the best.Since moving to Edinburgh three years ago, I have searched for a good barber. I'm delighted to say, the search is over!

Booked an appointment for 13:00, on arrival another barber informed me that Douglas had not been seen and was not answering his phone. I waited 15 minutes and no show. I think you'll understand when I say I was very disappointed as was looking forward to using this barber due to reading reviews, so was very shocked when my barber didn't turn up. Hence the 1 star.

I've been getting my haircut here for a couple of years. This is the first time I've settled on a barber - Dougie is genuinely amazing at cutting hair. I wouldn't go anywhere else now.The team at the shop are very welcoming and generally just great guys. You're guaranteed to hear some good stories and have plenty of laughs.

Worst barbershop I have ever been to.I went in paid £32 and somehow left with an undercut. The top of my hair wasn’t cut evenly, wasn’t even able to give me a 0.5 shave as I showed on photos. Please never go here unless you’re completely bald - bloke has ruined my hair completely in 45 mins (which is an impressive feat.

Booked in for 3 o'clock. Called ahead to say I would be 5 minutes late because of traffic. Owner told me thats fine as he was also running late. When I arrived the person who was running late had just started sitting down in the chair. And the barber with a burst lip and swollen eye from the night before told me he won't be long. He offered me a drink while I waited which I'm glad I didn't accept otherwise even more of my time would be wasted. I waited because these things happen and staff can call in sick but this person was working at a snails pace. Stopping constantly to tell a wordy story the client didn't seem very interested in and I certainly wasn't either. Around 3:50 (place is supposed to shut at 3:45) I realise this man is having a laugh and I ask them to transfer a refund and leave. Makes me think twice about paying in advance again. Definitely wouldn't recommend.
