John Downie and Jack Pettitt were great, turned my car around in a matter of days, made all arrangements to suit my schedule. Couldn't ask for more!

Tried to get information on leasing a Toyota car at the Hamilton branch, spoke to a salesman who had no business cards. He told me he would get me the information I required by email within 24 hours, no such email arrived. After 48 hours I went out of my way to the garage to find out what was happening. A sales man drinking coffee told me the original sales man name was Tony, he got someone to get Tony. I waited for Tony but he did not turn up, the rest of the staff I could see, were gossiping. I left the showroom in disgust at the poor level of service.

Bought a car online from Macklin Motors, sales experience was brilliant, very smooth and simple, I'd never bought online before and was a little apprehensive, but they were very reassuring. However, since taking delivery and coming up against several issues, the company have been less than helpful. First of all reimbursement for a tank of fuel was promised but took over two weeks of requesting to receive payment. The car arrived in a poor state inside and out, clearly hadn't been valeted. We were told it would be serviced and MOT'd prior to delivery, turns out they didn't bother as was serviced earlier in the year. There were also a number of scratches on the paint work, we were told that any scratches would be touched up and polished out, never happened! They then offered to arrange for a mobile valeter, great I thought, until it never happened! Then whilst travelling to Cornwall the car repeatedly went into limp mode. Macklin Motors agreed to pay for any work but after finding a garage who were prepared to look at the car, getting Macklin to pay was a totally different story! Garage not willing to do the work without payment on the day, Macklin refusing to help and insisting it'll be via an invoice and will take as long as it takes! Trying to speak to anyone at Macklin in a timely manner on the occasions we can get signal whilst in Cornwall is a nightmare. Lots of unfulfilled promises to call back! This experience is ruining our holiday with way too much time spent trying to get these guys to sort out fixing our car. They expect you to cough up your money immediately through the sales experience but are incredibly reluctant to show you the same courtesy. Never again and I'd recommend anyone considering buying from them to take care.

Car in for full service. Friendly, efficient service. Car was ready in good time and was spotless. Video health check is great. I waited for service to be done in comfortable area, with coffee/ tea to hand. Cost was a wee bit less than expected. Car was also taken in 1 hour earlier than booking in time, and was seen early too.
