Took my dress up amazing job highly recommended

Handed in an item for a basic alteration and was advised I could collect it in a week. I collected it 2 days after the advised pick up date due to illness. On arrival the item had not been altered and the person serving me declared they didn’t know what they had to do with it. I asked for a reason as to why no one got in contact with me and she said because she didn’t know. This person offered no apology and took no responsibility and scoffed and tutted when I outlined the poor service. They handed me my things back and walked to the back of the shop. I am appalled at the failure to provide a service and then awful customer service and complete lack of care when the error had been made. I require this item to be altered for a work event and have to find alternative arrangements now. I would strongly advise against using this business. I have wasted my time; energy and had someone be incredibly rude to me. Severely let down and want to warn people before they take such a risk.

Take all my alterations to the sewing room. No the girls by name. Such a friendly place and not overpriced.

This is a great shop for bits and bobs to sew with, beautifull colours of threads. There's also gorgeous material to treat you home to bespoke curtains the costs won't scare you either. The girls are very helpful and quite funny. Yes as a visitor to Whitburn I would definitely recommend that you go and gave a look in this shop. They also do clothes alterations. Good shop.

It’s a reputable shop that’s been here years. Experienced ladies that’s what you are paying for!!! I would definitely take my curtains in for hemming.

I didn't like to say to the lovely lady at the shop and I cant say a bad word about the lady. She was so sweet, but I was so disappointed with the job done taking up a bridesmaids dress as It was too long by about ft. But when we went to get it and my daughter tried it on in the shop after alterations I could have cried.It was about half a ft up at the back and trailing on the floor at the front. The seamstress didn't take into account the shape of my daughter to ensure it would sit at the same height all the way round. The dress is to be quite frankt ruined.I will never return to the shop. Am sorry but very disappointed and it cost me £45 to have the dress ruined.I was on the floor in the shop pinning the hem up at the front for the seamstress to try to fix it.There was plenty of dress to begin with as it was about a ft too long to begin with. They easily could have taken less off at the back and more at the front to ensure when on it sat level even the sides of the dress are at different heights.I wish I had taken it up myself. I tried to be polite and keep calm but all the time I was fuming in the shop seeing.my daughter with the dress on. When my daughter puts the dress on again I will post images of the hem. The wedding is in 2 weeks am frightened to let the bride see the dress on her bridesmaid I dont know what to say to her am gutted.

Great service from Ann and Kim both very helpful with alterations and curtain making. Very reasonable price and good choice of fabric. I would use them again and would not hesitate to recommend them.
