This restaurant is a great place to eat and associate. It's atmosphere is adult and relaxed with an old school / modern vibe. Food wise it blows away most competition with the quality and portion size. Amazing atmosphere, amazing service, amazing food. Five stars.

I should say that the interior design of the Shish restaurant, dining furniture, serving dishes and even toilets are very beautiful. I and my friends (4 people) were there for dinner and ordered meze plate as the starter and a mixed grill for 4 for the main. The food taste was good, typical of any Turkish grilled dish and the portion was quite big that we took leftovers home. To me kebab and grilled meat with bones were a bit hard and ribs were too fatty but still delicious. Also they DO NOT SERVE ANY ALCOHOLIC DRINKS and whatever they bring is nonalcoholic!! In addition, the food price is a high (~more than 30 per person). I’d prefer to have a smaller portion without food waste and pay less than they other way around.

Amazing..!!We ordered a two person platter to share between 2 kids and 2 adults along with the filet mignon and finished up the Khunafah. The Khunafah.. my word.. what a Khunafah… absolutely delicious. I’m truly amazed at how authentic and tasty this was. If you don’t try anything else you need to try the Khunafah. Recently had the Hafiz Mostafa’s in Dubai which had the fancy instagramable experience, but this from Shish was definitely far better. Very well balanced , the right amount of crisp, right amount of cheese (with the pull), perfect amount of sugar drench and rich ice cream.. Honestly a bloody good delight..!Filet Mignon was done exactly as requested (Medium), very well seasoned and melted in mouth. Veg and gravy along side very homely and nice.Grill Platter was excellent, portions of rice, bread, chicken shish, chicken wings, lamb shish, ribs, chops and chicken thighs. All beautifully seasoned, don’t even need condiments or accompaniments as the spice and seasoning was delectable. Highly recommend.

This is my favourite restaurants in the city! One of the best Turkish cuisines in the UK I’ve tried. I’ve tried a fair bit of the menu and from the starters to the mains, everything is delicious! The meat is always so tender and juicy and the flavours are so satisfying. As well as the delicious food, this is the first place in Scotland with a full dry bar and as a non-alcoholic it’s so nice to browse a drinks menu with endless options and not just have to skip to the small ‘soft drinks’ section. The staff in the restaurant are always attentive and helpful and the ambience is perfect for a celebratory meal, date or mate night. Highly recommend!

I recently dined at this elegant Turkish restaurant, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. The food surpassed all my expectations and has easily become the best Turkish I've ever tasted. The flavors were exquisite, and dessert - kunafe, a true delight for the taste buds. The restaurant exudes a high-end atmosphere, perfect for a fine dining experience. Despite its sophistication, it also caters to families, making it a great choice for various occasions. The ambiance was inviting and created a welcoming environment for all guests. One aspect that truly impressed me was the excellent service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of and that my dining experience was impeccable. From their attentive nature to their extensive knowledge of the menu, the service added an extra touch of luxury to the overall experience. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this Turkish restaurant for those seeking an unforgettable fine dining experience in Edinburgh. The outstanding food, combined with its family-friendly atmosphere and excellent service, make it a must-visit destination.

Exceptional place with great atmosphere and service.Coming to food.. no words to describe it, probably the best Turkish food I ever had in UK. Great portion and full of flavour dishes. You couldn’t fault a thing, each plate better than the previous one.Highly recommended place and looking forward for the our next visit.Side note, the prices are very very good for the quality and the portion.

What a place! Decided to dine here with my wife last weekend. The restaurant is immaculate and very modern. We went Sunday evening so it wasn’t that busy. The service was superb and the highlight of our experience! A massive shout out to Afzal who served us. He was welcoming, helpful and an overall good guy! He made sure we were well looked after. They have focus on quality customer service which is excellent to see as often restaurants lack this.My wife and I are non beviers so our eyes light up to see the drinks menu was alcohol free. I’ve never seen so many non-alcoholic beverages from mocktails to shots and everything in between was alcohol free. My wife got an amaretto sour and I got a raspberry fizz (recommendation from big Afzal). Both of these drinks were very tasty and looked great. We would of had a few more if they weren’t so expensive. Charging alcohol prices for nonalcoholic drinks. For food for we got the Kusbasili Pide, with complimentary balloon bread, olives and walnut spread. The Kusbasili Pide was very good and surprisingly big. We both thought it was delicious. There was a good ratio of meat to bread. I am not usually a fan of olives but I liked these ones. The walnut spread was ok. The balloon bread was fine but glad it was a freebie as we didn’t think it was anything special. We also got a couple of complimentary Turkish teas which were not bad.For mains we got the 2 person mixed grill platter. This could easily serve 3/4 normal people but thankfully I am not normal. The mix platter had pretty much all the meats and a little bit of salad pita, rice and corn on the cob. The platter was served on what was like a golden heated metal basket. It was very luxurious. Excellent presentation. The food itself was good. The meat was cooked pretty well, although I felt the flavours of all the meats merged into one and I couldn’t distinguish them. Perhaps that’s because of my untrained mixed grill palate. The rice was quite sticky and the pita was nice. We decided to get the demi glaze, peppercorn and mushroom gravies. All of which were good and there was a substantial portion of each. We were very full after the mains but there is always room for dessert. My wife got the Baklava and I got the Kunefe. Again, both of which had excellent presentation. The baklava was very tasty but the Kunefe was excellent. I liked the texture of the centre. You wouldn’t believe there was cheese in it. It was very indulgent.Overall the bill came to over £140 which we thought was a little expensive. We know we got a lot of food but we didn’t think it would be that much. We can’t dispute that the quality was there and the food we got could’ve served up to 4 people so maybe the price is reasonable. We’ll for sure be back to try some of the other dishes because they look awesome. Love this place!
