Had a lovely evening out with friends in this fine establishment, we got in early and managed to get the early bird menu, which was great value for money, £16.95 for a three course meal, with every course being superb. The virgin cocktails were an absolute hit with my pregnant wife. Looking forward to out next visit.

As I sat currently at the table as you walk into the door way to the left and 2 courses down I'm feeling extremely pleased with the choice my fiance chose to eat for my birthday treat..best get off before she returns fr9m the toilet as it's quite rude to sit on your phone at a restaurant. 5 stars though!!

Absolutely superb! A delicious meal with friendly (but not fussy), respectful and attentive service. I can't praise the restaurant and the staff enough. My wife had organised a meal for my birthday and to be honest, it was far, far better than one I'd recently eaten in a Michelin Star restaurant - both the food and the service!We were welcomed with complimentary glasses of Prosecco, and my dessert arrived with 'Happy Birthday' written on the plate in a raspberry coulis. It sounds a bit 'cheesy', but it was a nice touch; very understated and just an indication that the staff were on the ball!This is a gem of a restaurant and I will find as many opportunities to eat there as I can. Highly recommended, and great value for money!

Pick up your phone and book a table, you will not be disappointed. Great selection of food and cocktails all prepared and served by attentive, friendly staff. The whole meal was superbly tasty. The lamb on my dish was cooked to perfection, a little too pink for my lovely wife to try but I didn't feel guilty not letting her taste it as she devoured the crispy skin of her duck before I even had chance to ask for it. If I had to choose a favourite from the meal it would be the black pudding scotch egg starter, yum yum. I could just eat that again right now. We loved the whole experience and we will definitely visit again.

Tonight in Lockwoods, Ripon was superb. Crispy lamb breast, pea puree, feta, pea and radish salad plus a roast butternut squash dish, feta, chestnuts and sage pesto . 32 day aged Kirkby Malzeared ribeye steak, mushroom duxelle, rocket & watercress pesto, with pink peppercorn chips..just delicious. Shiraz and a juniper and ginger cocktail ..amazing. The food presentation was a feast for anyones eyes, and every component was tasted. Steak was succulent and the pink peppercorn chips were fabulous . They have a small select menu which is mouth watering and hard to actually decide what to choose . Looking forward to returning soon

Very nice. I wanted scones and cream. they did not have on the menu but made them for me anyway. Somewhat more expensive than the roadside diner, but I would go there again. Lovely atmostphere and food very very tasty.

It was the first time round for me. Having lived in Ripon for number of years I've never been there until now. It feels nice and cosy inside although, in my opinion, some tables are too close to one another. Staff is very polite and not 'in your face'. Service is a bit on the slow side but there must have been some issues in the kitchen as we've been given a discount on the bill without complaining about it. Reading the menu, you have an idea what's on the plate but when it's in front of you, it looks different - in a positive way! Food is... absolutely delicious and I would definitely recommend to pay a visit. Will be coming back if I get the chance to!

This was just right for me. Relaxed atmosphere with fine food. The menu was sophisticated and the dishes very well prepared. The stand out dish for me was the creme brulee, made with tonka beans which gave it a really delicious complex flavour. Service was attentive but not over fussy and there was Yorkshire lager on tap.
