Just wonderful. Been coming here for years and my fiance's family have been coming for over two decades. Obviously it's changed in that time but still beautiful scenery, the customer service is amazing! Any issues or queries we had were taken care of on the day. I hope they're paid well because they definitely deserve a raise.

Had a fantastic night at sandy balls, it was all lit up for the forest of lights which are just around the main area of the site, beautifully lit and Christmas carols made it such a good vibe. When we arrived the check in ladies were so lovely, and we got given a complimentary upgrade to an exclusive caravan which was so lovely and we are so grateful. It was the burst of blue and had everything you needed in there to be self sufficient, warm cozy and clean. I have no complaints about the accommodation at all and sandy balls is the best of the away resorts sites we have been to so far out of three different locations. Nice foresty feel, calm, quiet. Shame about the rain today as we left to come home early as it was just such heavy rain but the best birthday wake up to the rain on the roof of the caravan, also the beds were so comfortable I had the best night sleep. The alpacas were so cute in their pen and we couldn't make use of the walks as the rain was too heavy with no sign of it slowing down, the new forest is beautiful, the drive In past the horses is amazing. Will be back to enjoy it again in hopefully nicer weather. Made my birthday memorable this year - oh also my husband arranged a birthday pack for £10 extra and it was waiting in the caravan for us when we got there, the quality of items in the pack is really good value for money. Impressed guys thank you. Also, the shop is amazing, good quality products and chocolate mm as is the starbucks! Just an overall good feel. Every staff member we came across were very helpful and friendly and the site is clean. The park in the brambles was great for the kids.

Used to stay here every year when we were kids. Just spent the weekend here for the first time in twenty years! The lodge we stayed in was stunning, lots of changes around the site, but still a very beautiful place to stay, amazing amenities, stunning countryside. Can't wait to go back.

We have been coming here 20 years with no issues, last year we came there was lots wrong but thought it was a bad year, came back this year and even worse. We booked the exclusive, lodge wasn’t ready on time, then when we came back the lodge was ready, then the key didn’t work, then when we got that sorted we walked in to the zen it stank of smoke and the floor still had wet muddy prints on it and it was so unclean! Went to complain they said they would move us but had to wait to 6pm to get in to new lodge! They advertise 2 restaurants open ( we come every year at this time and never known them closed) Woodside did not open the whole time we was there, then the food at Aubrey’s was awful. Then Aubrey’s is now not open for breakfast either. Maybe letting people know this when they book you at least expect one to be open. I feel they have over jammed with extra lodges and caravans and it’s lost its forest feel. Such a shame as we come at least twice a year for 20 years but won’t be returning. There was lots of other things that happened but I’ll leave it there. Will miss coming here but it’s no longer a holiday place for us

This is our third year visiting and what a let down. Clearly the owners are putting profits over customer service. No welcome pack on arrival and we had a few issues with our lodge when we arrived, a phone call went unanswered and unreturned and we could see why when we visited reception and a dozen other people were in there making complaints. 2 onsite restaurants are advised, both of which we previously enjoyed. Now though, 1 remained closed the whole time we were here; the other no longer opens for breakfast and when we did go for dinner the food was shambolic. Aubrey’s had previously been a highlight of our stay, this time it was likely the straw that broke the camels back on why we will not likely return to Sandy Balls. They served 2 steaks not cooked properly, which for £28 is shocking. 3 of our 4 pastas were cold, our 2 burgers were something that you expect from a burger van at a local football club which again for £16 each is mind blowing how they can charge for that. The poor waitress explained how the owners have gone with cheaper suppliers and food complaints are common, regular and she was not in the slightest by our complaints. The staff though were excellent, let down by poor produce. The only highlight is the Christmas lights, but no artificial snow and the choice of children activities were extremely poor.Despite it being a Christmas tradition it is unlikely we will ever return to Sandy Balls, such a shame after years of great memories.

The new forest is an amazing place, and Sandy Balls is a great holiday village situated perfectly amongst the woods. We had a lovely short stay even with the bad weather we had there was plenty to do for all the family. We had deer come right up to the lodge we stayed in along with lots of other wildlife, which made the view even better. The only bad point was that the lodge we stayed in wasn't particularly clean, and there were a few bits that could've done with some maintenance. The staff are always happy to help and friendly. We can't wait for our next trip.
