My friend has just moved into her house today which was purchased through Hurfords in Stamford. I was my friend's representative helping her through the transaction as she is fragile and vulnerable at the moment going through cancer treatment and having just relocated from living in Australia/Tasmania for the last 12 years. I have to thank Leah Brightey for her help throughout the purchase and communicating with myself and my friend in an understanding and sensitive way. Leah is very friendly and professional and very good at her job. Any questions or problems we had were dealt with extremely quickly and she always got back to me with updates the same day. She was always helpful and supportive and made sure the purchase went through as quickly and smoothly as possible. I must also thank Leanne, the sales manager at Stamford Hurfords for her support . I purchased a house put on sale by Hurfords in Stamford. Overall, it was a poor experience and I would strongly recommend avoiding if possible. After accepting my offer and sending me confirmation, the manager Leanne called me a week later saying they were going back to best and final offers and they needed my revised offer by 4pm that day. I understand the process of Gazumping and did not respond to this request and was then told that evening that my original offer was accepted. Therefore, likely a heartless ploy driven by the estate agent to fleece more money out of me, that shows the values of the manager here and left a bitter taste from the start.From here conversation was minimal, staff were largely off sick and the phone was often unmanned and unanswered. I only proceeded with the purchase because I strongly liked the house.The sales progressor at this branch works from another site and only on Mondays and Tuesdays, when realistically most completions occur later in the week.I have given a 2nd star because Leah and Sophie at the branch were helpful and well mannered.
