I do not recommend this service. I do not feel I have received the service for the price I have paid. I do not feel I have been treated fairly considering I contacted the Language Shop for multiple jobs and I wanted to maintain a good relationship for future opportunities. I no longer wish to work with them in the future.

It is one of the few agencies that really care for their interpreters. They are very understandable and flexible. They always listen to you in case you need to cancel an assignment for a justified reason. No fees or charges for late attendance or late cancellation like other agencies. Interpreters should only work with agencies like this one so other companies that do not care about their interpreters will change their dodgy terms and maybe in a near future, interpreters can be more valued than they are nowadays. Thank you Languageshop!

It is a company with many local assignments in your home postcode. I have worked for them for many years as an interpreter. Of course like with a many things in life the same with this agency they were things I liked and things I didn't. They were few co-coordinators emphatic and friendly but they usually didn't last long. It is a freelance work and numbers of hours are not guaranteed. Payments were usually on time but you should check the job numbers to make sure you have been paid the right amount. I had an emergency back home so I haven't been accepting bookings for a while. I was shocked to find out that I have been removed from the mailing list without any notice or E-mail. I have phoned many times and spoken to the manager who said that they have too many interpreters. I have 13 years experience in the field so it is their lost.

Straightforward registration with all the usual docs and certificates, very helpful and responsive, pay fairly, tell you how many hours you've done on their payslips, and even though I need more hours they are by far the ones that offer the most work that I have encountered so far. It is a pleasure to work for them, they are so on top of things it helps interpreters stay organised as well. If only all language agencies were like this!I have worked with them for nearly a year and have only had one negative experience with a service provider through TLS, and it was a therapist who did not understand how interpreting works (e.g. not understanding why I asked for clarification, or how languages work in general, that a word can have many meanings, that phrasing must be natural and cannot be like google translate, etc.)Only way TLS could improve is by providing a guide to their service providers on how interpreting works, especially for social workers, as they often book one hour without taking into consideration the interpreting will slow the meeting down and they will require double the amount if everything needs to be interpreted consecutively (I think they believe community interpreting is simultaneous in this context).

The Language Shop
Is an excellent interpreting and translating company. Is very nice to work for it and to get their services. Is valuing the customer and the freelancer who is collaborating with. I totally recommend it, if you can provide language services collaborating with The Language Shop might be a very good start, and if you are someone whose needs are related to languages, do not hesitate to contact them.Thank you LS
