Roxies Animal Rescue

Absolutely appalled with the way this charity has treated me. Following a week finding out about 2 cats that myself and my partner were interested in, I was told that I would have a home check. This was offered by three people, who never went through with it. I was informed after not having a home check or any questions asked of me, that I could not adopt as they saw I had re-homed a dog. This dog was my dads who died 2 weeks ago (funeral 29th April) and my landlord wont allow dogs but does allow cats. These people did not let me explain and didn't give me the chance to defend myself either. When I did explain anyway, they all but ignored it and said a decision has been made". After claiming there was "a number of reasons" they could not elaborate on any other reasons. For the record the dog never went anywhere near a rescue or a kennel. He is with a friend for the long term and is happy comfortable and i see him regularly."

After losing one of our two cats in April 2020, I was hoping to adopt a kitten to keep our older cat company. I contacted a number of rescues locally, but given lockdown restrictions I did not seem to be getting much of a response. My friend had recently adopted through Roxies and recommended them. They arranged a virtual (video) home check and within a week matched me to a kitten. I collected him (hands-free and socially distanced) in January, as the rescue ensures that all kittens have completed their first set of vaccinations and are in good health before being homed. All the animals in their care are fostered, so are used to home environments and people and pets of all ages. Our little kitten is very confident and well adjusted which shows the work the volunteers and foster carers put in with him. I'm so glad I took the recommendation of my friend and adopted through Roxies and I'll be a lifelong supporter!

Lovely little second hand shop which is full of surprises x all proceeds help roxies animal rescue, who are home based Foster carers who are not supported by government funding x staff are friendly, polite and will go out of their way to help both shoppers and animals x

So far I've adopted 2 cats and a rabbit from the rescue and would definitely recommend. There a lovely punch of volunteers that works around there home lives and do such an amazing job

This rescue is great. They have helped me by taking like 15 to 20 kittens last year. And they are still helping with getting homeless cats fixed shots and a good home I really appreciate all your program does

I adopted from Roxie’s Rescues and they were a fantastic charity to deal with. Professional from the outset, and they go above and beyond to find good homes for the animals being fostered in their care. Communication was brilliant and I just couldn’t rate them highly enough. Our little rescue kitten is the best thing that has ever happened to us.

I have nothing but praise and admiration for Roxies Rescue. Almost 2 years ago I adopted two gorgeous black kittens and they are wonderful cats, playful, fit and as healthy as they were when I picked them up from the foster mum. I have recommended Roxies to many friends. During the adoption process I couldn't help but notice the huge number of animals looking for adoption and although requests had been made it all came down to the all important home check. The team, all volunteers were struggling to get round everyone, often travelling 60/100 miles to do a homecheck so I decided to join in and help them. Over the short time before Covid I helped where I could and I met some lovely families who ended up with a their chosen pet. If you see a pet looking for adoption or foster and you are genuinely interested in helping this Charity out then send the person who posted the animals details a private message stating as much information about yourself as possible and give at least two ways of contacting you back. Please be patient because many of these volunteers have full time jobs and busy home lives too. If you are thinking of helping by fostering or adopting an animal in the near future then request a home check now and then there will be no delay once you find the animal you could love. I am hoping to find two more cats to love and adopt and with Roxies foster families helping me to choose I know they will be just Purrfect.

Roxies Rescue is great, for both adoption of animals and the shop, unfortunately due to Lockdown sales in the shop have had to go online and as most of roxies staff are volunteers and have day jobs it's sometimes difficult to get hold of someone, be patient! I adopted 2 beautiful kitty cats from Roxies and they have been very supportive. I've also recommended them to others. Again, please be patient and remember, this isn't their full time job x

We adopted our cat Ruby (was Fran) last July and were really impressed by how committed everyone at Roxies was in making sure we were a good match. Ruby settled in immediately and now runs the house!

Love this little treasure trove, always great finds to be had! Very friendly staff and value for money
