Ross Charles

I have been coming to Ross Charles for my hair for the past few years and have never had a bad experience. I find it difficult to trust people with my hair but once Kennedy had coloured and cut it, I wasn’t going to go anywhere else. I have gone different shades of blonde, brown semi-permanently and then back blonde and every single time I have been extremely happy with the results. I mainly get balayage but have recently had a full head highlights and it’s still perfect. Her, and all the staff there, are knowledgeable and communicate what needs doing in my best interests. I trust them completely with making the decision in what is going to be best for my hair whilst meeting my request.They are easily accessible, accommodating to a variety of hair requests and make you feel welcome and listened to. They have loads of products inside too and the few that I have tried, on their recommendation, have been great. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!(I have attached photos of when I went in to have my grown out balayage redone a dark blonde)

On entering his salon, Ross and his staff are all welcoming and so efficient.Having my hair cut and styled by Ross has meant it is trouble free and gains compliments from many. I would thoroughly recommend Ross and his well trained staff.

I was extremely disappointed with how Ross Charles handed my late cancellation 2 weeks ago.My 10 month old son was sick and I had to bring him to the doctors as he had an ear infection. I rang to reschedule as (1) i really needed a hair cut (2) it was manners to call and explain.Upon calling the salon I was informed there would be a £15 cancellation charge. My response was I'm not paying it as being in a doctors surgery with my sick baby is not just a virvilous exscuse. Had I forgot I would have course paid.I was told by the lady this is policy. My reply was you have just lost a customer who tips the hairdresser £5 evertime i have been in. Might I add the hairdresser was always brilliant.So I was a regular customer but now I went to Tony & Guy.A real shame

I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed we were with this business. After calling in the Salon in July to book an early appointment to have my fiancee's hair styled on the morning of our wedding, we then called in again a couple of days before our wedding to confirm the 9am appointment and were assured that would be OK.We then had a text two days before confirming the appointment.On the morning of our wedding, the salon was shut, and nobody showed up, luckily a nearby salon, Dogobees, came to our rescue for which we will be eternally thankful. I would've normally express my views so publicly, but after we left an answer phone message requesting an explanation, nobody has had the decency to contact us.

Since moving to York I have my hair cut by Dan at Ross Charles and I cannot recommend them enough. Great attention to detail, never feels rushed and always open about what style would suit and why. Everyone super friendly and caring - five star treatment! Good range of products to suit particular hair styles too.

I called at short notice for my daughter to get her hair done for a wedding. Both Katy and Ross were fantastic in helping source a hairdresser. Thank you guys really appreciate the help!

Took my daughter for a trim on a saturday. Inside is a little tired for a pricier hairdressers and the large windows were very condensated up due to lack of ventilation.That said the staff are friendly and professional and the cut was great. If your looking for a professional cut and colour this could just be place for you.

I went for a restyling, never been before. Lara was my stylist and she was excellent. I let her decide what to do and as a result I have a fabulous haircut that not only suits me but has taken a few years off into the bargain.

A truly accessible hair salon where the staff are so friendly and helpful,my hairdresser was Kennedy and she has given me a fabulous hair style ,she was friendly but very professional and I was very comfortable with her.i am disabled and needed to sit in my walker and this wasn't a problem as the salon , they made both my husband and I feel comfortable I absolutely love my hair and will be returning when my hair needs redoing as it's simply worth every single penny to feel fabulous and that's what Kennedy made me feel with my new hair style
