Royal Mail Durham Delivery Office

I've always found the staff here to be very helpful and polite. Yes, sometimes they are busy and you may wait for a few mintues but it is a major delivery office not a local post office! My only gripe is the parking around this area - it's just rammed. There are a few bays for the public, two are disabled bays and the other two or three tend to have someone permanantly parked in them or parked across two bays! Trying to turn around is also very difficult. Best to park further away and walk there if you can.

I've always found the staff friendly and helpful here but I work a full time 9-5 Monday to Friday job and since the delivery office has reduced their opening hours this means I have Saturday morning to collect packages. This means if I'm away a weekend I've missed the delivery and it'll be RTS.These are completely impractical opening hours. Change them back now please.

Opening hours are completely inadequate. (7-9? I have to get a train just after 7) Additionally for the 'Durham delivery office', I shouldn't have to walk for over an hour each way to get there. On my day off (Wednesday) they are inexplicably closed so I probably can't receive my post until nearly a week after a delivery attempt was made (which was while I was in the house by the way and they didn't knock)Additionally, when I have had to go there in the past, the staff have been sarcastic and spiteful.Overall a pathetic disgrace to what is otherwise (usually) a decent service.

Rubbish opening times, needed to collect a parcel as got a white fee to pay slip through door. Paid the fee and went to collect next day (week day) @ 11:30am and not open. When buying online I recommend literally any other courier service.

Ask to sent my rescheduled parcel out from Friday to the Saturday and did not turn up. So now have to take a day of work to wait in all day for it.and if it doesn't come I will have to go to the main sorting office for it then get treated like its my folt. And very rude to all customers. Royal mail is a joke. Do not send nothing with the courier service. Save the hassle.

Absolutely useless, put on the instructions to leave in the garden but of course they don’t. Absolutely ridiculous that I now have to go and collect my parcel. Hermes is way better and that’s saying something. Not the first time either.

OK most of the time but only one person on duty can be a pain, especially at Christmas/busy periods. Website times differ from those listed on red delivery slip which is confusing. Not sure about Bank Hol timings. Can be pleasant but not friendly. So long as I get my items without delays and hassle, I can manage the system in place.Can see where things may not go to plan and been on receiving end of mistakes : items sent back before cut off date, never to be seen again, lost items, wrong item handed over unrelated to date on slip plus items unexpected as no slip posted. No method to collect without posted slip : not sure how to resolve this. Complained that I was refused an item as couldn't produce proof of address (as between two houses) though pointed out the slip clearly states proof of identity" which I had. They wouldn't accept passport or driving licence but they accepted a credit card : later pointed out system flawed as the card was not registered to my addresses!!"

I was ment to have a parcel delivered today but it hasn't arrived phoned them up to be told its on a van and should be here by 7 however has not turned up

went to check on recorded delivery item as not took back to local post office item was not her also. Code on card left by delivery person was incorrect as too many numbers still trying to locate parcel
