I was in the middle of changing from my current GP within the St Albans area as the people in my previous GP treated me really unkindly when I was very sick. When I got to Grange Street Surgery the person at reception asked me why I wanted to join their surgery and I explained. She then told me to go away and write a letter to the sugery explaining why I wanted to join there. I thought that was quite strange as I'd never been asked to do that before. It felt like I was trying to join a very exclusive club and I had to meet some high criteria.I hope I'm not being unfair of my assessment of the place. The only thing I can add is that it didn't help that I totally blanked out and forgot the name of my previous GP surgery when the person asked me.

Absolutely disgusting receptionist. Lady with the blue eyes, black hair & annoying monotone voice. Super rude and not understanding that when working in a GP people come to them with serious problems and would like to be treated with kindness and not asked personal question where the people behind me can hear my history. I’ve already complained about this problem to the managers but this obviously wasn’t dealt with. TALKING ABOUT MEDICAL HISTORY OUT LOUD IN A PUBLIC SETTING IS A BREACH OF CONFIDENTIALITY!!! Please train your staff to be more polite and welcoming and not to be so inconsiderate when talking about PRIVATE things…common sense isn’t very common.

Went in today to collect some forms. The receptionist looked like she didn't want to be there and was very rude! Why can't they be nice? They make you want to turn around and not get seen by a doctor!

A great surgery with reasonable wait times in my experience. Great levels of care, clean and comfortable. Thank you for the work you do.

Registered myself and my family very promptly. Was quick to offer my son an appointment. Had a lovely doctor. Good experience

Husband seen today, first appointment since a major health problem, Dr didn’t even ask how he was feeling and was dismissive to rude in response to his questions. Once we are past this acute period I think we will be moving GPs, this practice is getting worse.

I don't write bad reviews, however being in the customer service industry, and having tried to bear with their shortcomings at this GP for a while now, hoping they will listen to clients' reviews/complaints, and improve their services, I am compelled to post a review as it seems their services if anything has become worse. The administration at this GP is very poor! No customer service or empathy of any sort. The secretaries are very rude, always trying to hurry you off the phone. One of them just cut off the phone on me now because I asked why we never get an appointment with the doctors at the GP, as that is the essence of having a GP close to one's house! They are quick to ask you to go to an urgent care unit or A&E. She responded; well

For c30 years my family have benefitted from the highest level of care from the doctors and the nursing team. In more recent years we've been so grateful for the time, care and dedication they've invested in caring for the oldest, frailest member of our little gang. Can't recommend them highly enough, 6* if I could.

Been a patient there for a long time. Never an issue with the GP’s. They are very helpful and understanding. The receptionists are a different story. I’ve never met more rude and condescending people working in the medical field. It’s a shame that people with no compassion at all are allowed to work in GP offices!
