Craswall Priory

Located on a private road to Abbey Farm, it's best approached on foot. Free to enter, this very rare site is 1240ft up on a hillside close to Hays Bluff. Founded in the early 13th century, there is a comprehensive website from the society looking after the Priory, detailing it's history and excavation.The site is in a valley and not easily accessible, especially if in a wheelchair. It is gradually being overgrown again although it's still easy to understand and there are some information boards on site.Located within superb countryside, this is an obscure, rare priory and certainly worth visiting.

Excellent unspoilt, quiet. No parking nearby though, so you need to be prepared for a hill walk in.

Just extraordinary atmosphere; a place to pray and be quiet among scant Grandmontine ruins of the church. Be warned: finding them requires persistence. They are not obvious.
