The Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Here is a picture of the Pie of the day (Chicken) which my daughter loved. My wife & I had the Lasagna which was lovely. Always very good food here.

What’s happened to this place?!? We have been here several times a long time ago and we could never fault the food nor the service! But the Sunday lunch we had here last Sunday was diabolical!!!Service:The lady serving us... why was she even there?!? How is she even employed here? Restaurants survive on the food they serve and the experience the diner has... Our waitress was moody, miserable, unfriendly and inattentive! If she doesn’t want to be there then leave! But you are representing your employers, either you don’t enjoy your work or you have no respect for your employer! But you really shouldn’t be there, get yourself a job in a greasy spoon!Food:Sunday roast used to be good!!! But today it was a shambles!! The chef on duty was either having a bad day or was simply unbothered! Either way it’s no excuse for what was served!! We all ordered various Sunday roasts... the Yorkshire Puddings were all rubbery, flat and cold... the so called ruffled potatoes were over cooked, oily and burnt and I serious suggest they learn the meaning of ruffled! the carrots were dead and wilted just like the greens! We reordered the Yorkshire puddings and we got a plate full of the same! I ordered the veggie tart! It was flavourless, brittle and dry. If you zoom into the picture you will see how it was served, broken tart with a pointless tomato sauce and a grilled veg on top! You call this a tart? Really?Atmosphere:This is a lovely place... We thought we would come here as we were entertaining friends from abroad. It was embarrassing considering we spoke so highly of it!!There were lots of diners arriving and most were aimlessly standing around waiting for someone to approach them! It’s not a nice start for diners to not even be greeted or have their booking acknowledged.I seriously think the owners need to look at the reviews and seriously look at the food that gets served and how the staff view their jobs! They are clearly unhappy and unbothered! You’re only as good as the food you serve!

My experience this time was okay..We have had dinner here before and it was lovely. However, this time the food took very long, staff brought the wrong food for my partner and the quality on the food was okay. Nothing extraordinary to be honest.Lastly, the staff/work attire was not appropriate. It doesn’t look good to go a nice pub when someone is wearing flip flops (which is also a health and safety issue) but the staff didn’t not look tidy and professional. There was a staff member wearing a long T-shirt with shorts (I assume) because it didn’t look like she was wearing anything…Also, some of the spaces in the pub were not kept properly. For instance, where we were sitting the wall was dirty with paint peeling off, the desk was sticky and the cutlery, as well as, the glasses were not cleaned properly.Overall, the experience was okay. I went to have lunch with my partner because usually the food is really good and the pub looks very nice. But this time I didn’t like what I saw..

Hands down the best Sunday roast, family/baby/children friendly pub lunch in the area! Ample parking, warm and cosy, ambience, clean and spacious washroom, friendly and helpful staff. Most importantly, well executed roast with trimmings and unlimited gravy. The choices for kids are outstanding, good quality and healthy. It’s our first visit, but you bet we will be back. Keep it up!

This has the potential to be a really nice pub but is let down by the staff. Nobody seems to know what they are doing and they appear to walk around aimlessly whilst ignoring customers. We went along for Sunday lunch and stood at the empty bar for a while before somebody appeared to take our order. Our children’s meals came out after around a 20 minute wait. Pretty small portions and the kids pizza looked like a bad home economics project. It was undercooked, covered in what appeared to be tomato purée from a tube and half of it didn’t even have cheese on. These meals were finished well before our adult mains came out. I went back to the bar to order more fries since my children were still hungry due to the small portions. Again I wasn’t acknowledged by anyone for a while. The Sunday roast would have been fine, nothing to crow about but nice enough if it hadn’t been so cold. I didn’t bother sending it back because I wasn’t sure it would ever make it’s way back to the table. My side dish didn’t appear until after I had finished eating despite us chasing for it twice. The waitress seemed surprised that I no longer wanted it. To her credit she did arrange a refund. We would have ordered desserts but couldn’t face another long wait with everyone’s food coming out at different times so we left. I think some investment in staff training is sorely needed.

This was a return visit after a previous unsatisfactory visit with some vouchers as compensation . This time the food was a lot better. The roasts were good and my trio of meats was tasty and very filling. However, the roasted potatoes were so hard to cut that we had to ask for steak knives to be able to cut them. My friend asked for cauliflower cheese as a side and this was so undercooked that it was almost impossible to cut, the cheese was minimal, and the white sauce was just water. The manager was advised and this item was taken off the bill, and she said she would sort out the kitchen!. The house red wine (Merlot) was excellent. For puddings we had the fruit crumble and an Eton Mess . The crumble was tasty but I think a blow torch had been used just a little too much so that the top was a bit burnt. The Eton Mess looked good, but was mainly cream with some meringue and half a raspberry and half a strawberry .I don't think we will be going again.
