AVOID: Untrustworthy; the type that give 2nd hand car dealers a bad name.I bought car from them and less than 6 weeks later, the rear differential needs replacing. And it turns out they sold me a car with faulty front brakes too. Despite this and that the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 is clear in making it their responsibility to either correct or refund if a fault comes to light between 30 days and 6 months, they are refusing to acknowledge this and are refusing to put this right. I am going to have to take action in the courts. This is an open and shut case - they are certain to be found liable, but despite this it's going to cost time and money. Nevertheless. Too many people get ripped off by dealers like this and it can't be allowed to stand. Dreadful way to behave. DON'T BUY FROM THIS OUTFIT. They're cowboys. 100%. If I could give 0 Stars in this review, I would.

Avoid!We purchased Mazda 6 from them 2 years ago. Since the beginning we had been experiencing nothing but trouble, stress and costs associated with that car.They sold us a car with a faulty engine and blamed it on us!Barely two years later we have to scrap the car as it is unroadworthy.Save your money and go elsewhere.Would give zero stars if I could!

We did buy 2 cars from this company,they are old cars but low mileage and lower ownership also condition was great so i would recommend them because they do ask customers if there is any issue before buying like minor things they even did that too. Thanks Thatcham Motor Company.

Bought a car in December 2022. About 3 weeks later an engine warning light was shown. Phoned the car seller and they immediately arranged for it to be looked at at a garage in Reading. A few days later the car was fixed and it was told by the garage the clutch had been replaced (though I am not sure if that ever really happened as I never saw any paperwork for it). Afterwards, the car was running fine for several months. About 3 months ago, I noticed that there was something wrong with the automatic gearbox. When you are stuck in a traffic jam, the gear shifts are harsh when moving slowly and when sitting still, the car is pushing forward. I brought the car to the Ford main dealer who did a costly gearbox service and unfortunately, it hasn’t helped. The problem is still there. I brought the car to a different garage and their analysis is that it looks like the car has a pressure-based issue. Changing the automatic gearbox alone would not fix the issue. There also seems an issue with the clutch and/or valve body. All in all, to have the gearbox and clutch/valve body replaced, would cost around £4000 or more. I am pretty sure that this problem has been there before but it only manifests itself when you are driving more than 30 Minutes and you are stuck in traffic. I am convinced that the previous owner of the car knew about this problem and that’s the reason he sold the car. I don’t know if the car dealer knew about it or not. Fact is, that the car is faulty and I am worried about driving it. I only had it for 9 months and wasted £6000 plus potential fixing costs of more than £4000. Not happy at all.

Great place to buy a car, very helpful. Bought a quality car from them, couldn't be happier, they sell quality second user cars. May pay a little extra, but you get a little extra.

Bought a Daihatsu Sirion for the mother-in-law here last weekend. The car is as it should be, happy with it.Very relaxed experience from start to finish, no pressure, Anna and The Boss both easy going, helpful and efficient.Would happily deal with this company again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.ROBBING FROM PEOPLE they are an absolute disgrace I bought a car with many faults including 3 engine faults they are not excepting responsibility and are refusing a refund under the consumers right act 2015.I will be reporting to the ombudsman and AA who they claim to be registered with companies House and trading standards there's no way I'm going to let these robbers get away robbing me

I had a fantastic experience dealing with Thatcham Motor company. I travelled all the way from Southend and found the car exactly as it was advertised on their website. All my enquiries were satisfactorily answered by their helpful on-site staff which, I did not find pushy. The car felt great to drive back home. I have been using the car regularly since the purchase 2 months ago and so far, It has not given me any grief. I would definitely buy again from Thatcham Motor Company and would unreservedly recommend them to anyone looking to buy a quality used car.

AVOID at all costs!!! Brought a car & with in 3 months had broken down 4 times. Guy was very very rude & will not look at the car… awful customer service.
