Goring Fish N Chips

Worst chip shop in Worthing, dishonest owner claims he serves fresh cut chips but they are clearly frozen recooked and taste awful. More dishonesty on their ratings on Just Eat, every time there is a bad review, a guy called Peter pops up and gives 5 stars, over and over again.

Absolutely disgusting and missing items.Everything issoggy and stuck together I can’t even get half of it out of the bags.The “large” portion is more like a child’s size.The chips taste like they’re cooked in very old oil and they’re definitely not fresh cut either.Having to order from somewhere else now as the food is inedible.Wish I read the Google reviews before I ordered !!

Ordered via just eat tonight.Ordered cans of Rio and got Fanta fruit burst instead with no explanation.Cod was OK but chips tasted like they’d been cooked yesterday and re-fried. Crispy chip bits were just stale and the main chips just didn’t taste freshly cooked. I won’t be ordering from here again!

The staff smiled, but the food was ... so bad. I'm sorry but the home table was really dissapointed. Zero crisp on the fish, fries were very bland (and the wrong kind of old brown). Just no.

Worst fish and chip restaurant I’ve ever been to, would give zero stars if possible…rude staff who would barely even look at us. Ordered 2x LARGE chips (for reference, what you see in the photo are 2 large chips) I went back in and questioned the portion size but apparently this was correct…. Terrible! Once ordered we went and waited in the car, I went back in no more than 5/6 minutes later to make myself visible and he tried to take my order as a new customer!! Terrible service, the food tastes bland (nice way of putting it) and the portion sizes are embarrassing, no wonder the overall 3 stars and no wonder it was dead in there. Never again!

Easily falls into top 3 worst meals ever eaten.If it wasn't for the fact a previous meal severed to me from another company was raw, this place would come number one for worst food I've ordered.I'll back up every review and say the chips were yesterday reheated, brown and soggy, we ordered at 9pm, so these chips had been around for most likely 24hrs.I ordered a large cod and chips... I might as well be served an empty box I had hardly any food, especially considering I ordered a large.The cod I had was just the most bland, boring, tasteless, depressing looking bit of fish I've ever seen or tasted, even the batter looked nasty and old and soggy.My partner ordered a wrap and chipotle chips.The wrap was yet again totally bland and depressing, the actual bread wrap was stale, the produce used inside like the salad was mushy, and the chicken was two strips of some kind of cut off breaded chicken from a chicken steak compared to an actual singular strip/goujon.The chipotle chips didn't even have chipotle on them, and the melted cheese on top was hardly even melted.They literally sprinkled grated cheese on top, let it melt for 10 seconds, it was practically regular grated cheese that was just sightly melted togeather into a big ball of low quality cheese.Also ordered a battered mars bar.Expected a full size mars bar for the price... No.. You get half a mars bar/a mini size.On top of that, we didn't even get a mars bar.. We got a snickers, containing nuts... My partner is allergic to nuts. She only knew it was a snickers after biting into it.Absolutely unacceptable.Our order came to a total of £23, from just eat.Just eat also provided a flat 25% of everything on their menu (which is probably an Incentive to draw people in due to poor reviews)And we also got a free item for ordering over £20.We choose onion rings for our free dish, and it was about as good as the rest of the foodSoggy, soft, cheap batter, slimey textured onionsThis store is not worth your time or money.They cut corners on all their food produce to save money and it clearly shows in the quality of the food which falls into some of the worst I've ever unfortunately had to eat.(My camera of the cod n chips doesn't show the true picture, it actually makes it look better then what it was, but none the less)

Terrible, chips tasted like they'd been recooked from previous days, the chips were a dark brown and not tasty at all. Been here three times in the hope it would get better but over time it's hot worse. Will not buy from this chippy again

The food was awful - chips looked and tasted old and overdone and the fish batter was soggy and horrible. Large chips was more like a small, same for the cod.Saveloy was fine. Mushy peas tasted good but weren’t ‘mushy’

I ordered through Deliveroo but the food was delivered by the restaurant. It's unfortunately stone cold and looks like it has been sitting around for a while. The can of coke is warm. The dessert I'd paid for is missing from my order, I wasn't offered a refund only a discount off my next order...but I won't be ordering from here again.

Really bad food. The fish was freshly cooked, but was tasteless and the battery dripping with oil. The chips were a odd dark brown colour, and tasted like they had originally been cooked a couple of days previously.Keep well away from this place.
