Brecklet Trail
Absolutely beautiful little walk. A gentle walk up hill and then downhill if you take it slow and steady. Beautiful views too.

Best entrance is across the street from the visitors center at the entrance to the slate quarry. Good 2-3 mile loop hike with views, forest, and ruins. Comes back down at the other end of town. See map.

Brecklet Trail
Really beautiful walk that doesn’t take too long for the Family. We started at the Quarry entrance and followed the trail upwards into the woods, the first section is steep and our 2 year old required a seat on Daddy’s shoulders but once into the Woods the route is walkable for young to old and very pretty.

Incredibly tranquil and easy hike through cool forests and streams with beautiful views of the quarry and surrounding mountains. Very glad we found this! Access from the quarry entrance.

Brecklet Trail
This is an excellent walk quite steep in places but the paths are very good and there are lots of places to stop and gasp at the views we stopped at the picnic bench which appears to be about half way and enjoyed a drink and a sandwich looking towards the bridge at Balachulish, at the end the walk back through the village was beautiful, lovely gardens and beautiful plants to see, well done residents your village is lovely

To get to the Brecklet trail, follow the path from the St Mun's church (the river on your right) until a metallic portal. Cross the portal and you'll find the beginning of the trail. 1h walk to the quarry. It's a peaceful and easy walk which can be done with children even if it goes up and down and can be a bit slippery.

A beautiful walk. If you take it slow and steady its a good walk uphill and then downhill. Lovely views and not too long. Thoroughly recommend cakes from 'stiff peaks' on the way backif open.EDIT - Our dog caught 3 ticks on this walk. So heed the warnings about ticks!! We didn't get any thankfully.

I found this trail by accident, but it's so beautiful and serene that I want to share it.You can park close to it and start your trail from the Ballachulish Quarry entrance and follow a path to the right up the hill. From there you'll reach a point with a beautiful view and the option to go deeper into a forest. The trail's path is sometimes steep, but easy to follow and 100% worth it. It takes you through an abandoned settlement all the way down to a creek - this takes around an hour of walking. Then you can walk up the river for a while to find a small waterfall, on the way back you can see a pet cemetery and you'll leave the area through a gate. From there you can walk through the village back to the parking stop in front of the Quarry.
