Fine example of Norman church.

Charming with a very long and colorful history. Loved the arches inside and stained glass windows. There a note on the church door that says if locked borrow the key from the house next door. ""

A quirky little church

Lovely, if a bit strange looking church which has arrived in this condition from a Norman start to a Victorian finish. Late medieval builders adding a chancel, arles and a clerestory, making it a very fancy piece of work. The stone panels set flush to the south side of the clerestory are very interesting and in need of further investigation but most likely added by 16C donors.Now for the Victorians.... They demolished the chancel in the early 1860's while working on the other church in the village St Mary's. The tower collapsed while building work was being done some 36 years later.THE CHURCH WAS CLOSED so any further investigations were stopped, very annoying.

Intriguing and strange looking round towered church. What remains of the tower is now used as a baptistry. Wonderful high clerestory windows. Well worth a visit.
