GV Pro Bike Fit - Bike Fitting

I’ve put off a proper fitting for years. Really enjoyed working with Graeme and seeing the benefits immediately. I was going to bike a new bike but now thinking many more years left in the old one (now it fits!)

I had a Bike fit with Graeme at Picton Cycles and he set up my bike on the rollers and asked me to pedal and had a look at my position.He watched and identified what could be improved with adjustments to Bars, Hoods, Seat and post etcHe made adjustments while explaining what and why he was doing it.I got back on the bike and rode for a while again and Graeme was observing my position again while asking how that felt.Graeme suggested that narrower bars would benefit me more.I felt a lot more comfortable on my bike.I know that I am to do a follow up visit if required after a period of time getting used to the new position.I thoroughly recommend Graeme if you are looking for a Bike or Shoe fit.He is very knowledgeable, approachable and friendly.I learnt a lot about bikes that morning and am grateful to Graeme for helping me and being there to advise about pedals etc afterwards.Thanks Graeme

I’ve been speaking with Graeme for quite a while now having had several injuries that he’s previously helped with and decided to try his knowledge against my bike fit and i’m beyond impressed.He doesn’t turn up with a set rule book for the rider and takes his time to thoroughly understand any issues you encounter whilst riding before assessing how your body currently interacts with the bike. He starts making small adjustments throughout to gradually ensure the position works for you as an individual.We made some big changes to my saddle height (going lower) and also reduced my stem size (both of which measurements had come from other bike fits in the last) and I can’t believe how much comfier yet stronger i am on the bike since these changes. I’ve also noticed that I now seem the recover from training/racing quicker as i’m no longer sore for days afterwards.Graeme’s changes and advice have alleviated some knee pain that i was experiencing and dealt with a tightness i’d noticed in my left shoulder. I would highly recommend anyone to have a chat with Graeme about the issues they’re facing or even if you don’t think there is an issue and you just want to maximise your performance on the bike.

I had Graeme carry out a bike fit for me last year, which was fantastic (review below). This year, we did a revisit bike fit (which Graeme can carry out at your home if you have a medium-sized room). We started to look at some of the contact points which were still causing me issues - namely the saddle, which, like I think every cyclist has done, I bought because it looked 'cool' about six years ago.I was still suffering from numbness which I just accepted. Graeme informed me that I shouldn't feel any discomfort even after hours of being in the saddle. He suggested an SQLab Ergowave 612 saddle, these saddles have a much flatter profile than your traditional cycling brands, and you effectively sit planted on your pelvic bones. To reiterate, Graeme isn't a 'sales person' ; he will only suggest investing in what he genuinely thinks will improve your issues or goals and has a brilliant ability to quantify how much of an improvement it should make, to help you make a decision - that said, he does have a direct line with his suppliers so can obtain below retail prices, if required.I could not believe how much of an improvement his slight adjustments and new saddle had made. I have no numbness in my lower region, and it completely relieved pressure off my left foot, which I'd been suffering with since I bought my shoes a couple of years ago - I 100% thought I would have to buy new shoes, but now they're fine.If you have neck, shoulder, knee, or pelvic pain/numbness, want to improve your cycling ability or are just thinking of buying a new bike, call Graeme. He's reasonably priced, very experienced, and you get complete after-sales customer care. He takes pride in his work, and I couldn't recommend Graeme enough!

Very enjoyable bike fit, obviously knows his stuff and able to explain complicated concepts easily. Perfect balance of listening to clients thoughts on the issues but also being confident enough to demonstrate what is the correct approach. Very happy with the service and will use again.

Graeme did a fantastic job getting me set up correctly on my bike, a vast improvement over what I thought was ok. He has great knowledge on the cause and effect of the aches and pains experienced when cycling on a poorly fitted bike. I thought I had just wasted my money on recently purchased saddle, which was so uncomfortable it was about to go on eBay! But after a few minor adjustments on the bike Graeme solved the issue.I bought the fitting service along with new cycling shoes, and now feel extremely comfortable, pedal stroke is more fluid and improved my power output. Highly recommended and reasonably priced.

Just had a great fitting session with Graeme.My initial contact with him was to get some new Lake shoes, but after a brief telephone chat I booked a full fit, which included looking at shoesI had been thinking of getting a bike fit as I have recently started doing some longer distance Audax rides.Graeme is very knowledgeable and talked through all aspects of the fit and made relatively minor adjustments, other than some narrower bars, but the effect was immediately apparent, feeling much more connected to the bike and relaxedCan’t wait for the rain to stop and get out for ride with the new set up

I had a great experience in this place with Graeme. A very friendly and knowledgeable cyclist and bike fitting professional. He basically helped me have a more enjoyable riding experience on my bike. Gave me critical advice about my saddle hight and width, handlebar width and position, and cycling shoes adjustments. He even gone the extra mile of giving me (and personally doing it) advice on removing my handlebar for bike transport.
