Another fantastic piece of heritage saved for generations to come by the National Trust. There was still some restoration work going on during our visit, but it doesn't detract from the beauty of the place. The grounds are also stunning.

Beautiful place, volunteers are full of facts, we had a red squirrel guide with Liz, she was fabulous. We were lucky to see one, we don't get them where we live. We were so happy, the house was beautiful, grounds were lovely. All the staff were pleasant. Definately recommend and would visit again if we are ever in the area.

Part of the National Trust now, beautiful house and gardens with plenty to see and do for the family! Lots of space to park, nice gift shop and cafe. Dogs are allowed everywhere apart from in the house and the terrace gardens. Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful, loved hearing about the history - renovations are still a work in progress. The Whistler mural was awesome! Loved walking around the grounds with the dogs, there was extra entertainment put on for the kids dotted around the place with it being school holidays on top of the frisbee golf you can do! Didn’t manage to see any of the red squirrels whilst we were there unfortunately, It was very busy whilst we were there, but there was enough room for everyone without it feeling overcrowded. Highly recommended for a visit!

Great visit to Plas Newydd, we arrived around lunchtime after another visit in the area and were able to park easily. We had a fabulous time, the views are stunning and all of the volunteers inside the house were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and passionate, in particular their gentleman who spent a long time interacting with visitors over the Whistler painting. We could have spent a day exploring and would definitely return.

Very interesting National Trust property with extensive grounds, good café and shop, with large car park. Grounds are dog friendly but not the house.Touring the house gave an interesting historical insight to the family who lived there. Some areas are being restored.Stunning Whistler wall mural which is in excellent condition.Staff friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, I would recommend a visit.

Lovely place with stunning views. Downstairs in the fuse is OK for disabled visitors, but you cannot go upstairs if you have limited mobility. There is a spiral staircase, but you can ask to go up the main stairs instead. Gardens are stunning and very well maintained. If you can get around it, the Frisbee golf is fun! Take your own Frisbee if you can, though, as the ones available in the shop are £5 each! Also, look out for the red squirrels.

The gardens are absolutely stunning, some of the best we've seen and well worth a visit but we were disappointed in the house which is almost empty of any original pieces - purely as a result of the family history. Beyond the excellent military section there is very little to see. We are members of the National Trust so entry was free, but we would have been very disappointed had we paid to see the house. To add to the general feeling of justification, there are major plumbing works going on inside the house and the decor is in need of updating. The cafe is at the entrance and the top of a long walk down to the house, so this makes a return for lunch an option for the fit only. There is a small kiosk selling mostly ice cream by the house entrance - tea/coffee is available but no food so I would advise taking packed lunch. The acres of sloping lawns are magnificent but a magnet for little ones to run and roll down - great fun but very noisy on school holidays! The toilets were run down and not very clean - very unusual for an NT property.I have given the property 4 stars solely for the amazing gardens.

Great place, wonderful place to go for a walk and the house - even though there isn't a lot in it - is still worth a visit. The views of the lake is just amazing, and on a sunny day makes it spectacular. There is plenty of places to go for walks, and the opportunity for Frisbee Golf, however no Frisbees to be found!Still, great location to visit.

The house itself has some interesting history, but it's the outdoor walks and gardens that are the true gems. I enjoyed my visit. The weather was good, staff was friendly and informative, and the views were breathtakingly majestic!

We've visited this National Trust house many times and we always enjoy our visit.A beautiful house with the famous Whistler Mural ... We find something new in it every visit. The terraced gardens are beautiful (especially in August). The Menai views are gorgeous and the woodland walks are perfect for a bit of forest bathing and maybe a sighting of a red squirrel or two (we've seen a few).Good parking (including some for motorhomes) but it can get busy and you may end up on grass. There's a Cafe, kiosk (next to the house) and a shop too.
