I won a Lot being auctioned by Cato Crane in August 2022. The Lot description was significantly changed in the lead up to the auction, downgrading the value of the Lot. Furthermore, when the Lot arrived it was only partially complete, missing a major item shown in the photographs for the Lot. I notified Cato Crane, but they did not respond.

Very friendly and efficient service from Anna. Low commission charges and international registered post (at cost only!). Far better packaging for my good than I would have expected. I just hope that you have more items that I can bid on in future, so I can do further business with this company.

Terrible customer service. No communication prior to auction. Had to chase up for information and received abrupt replies. Taking weeks to be paid for sold items (still waiting), weeks to have unsold items returned (still waiting) and very rude and dismissive replies to text messages from John Crane when asked for updates . I Would not recommend this company to anyone.

I felt rushed and that I had a very cold service when I wanted to sell some of my late Mum's treasures. It took a few months but they did eventually sell them and sent me a cheque. Sorry but it was a rather impersonal service.

I wouldn't use these again, I took a gold sovereign bracelet in it sold for £560 I got £380 far too much taken for selling this item. Commission, VAT, Insurance, Lotting fee ?Surely commission should include VAT, and are they not insured ? why am I paying insurance?Took over a month and two phone calls to get my money.Expensive mistake, never again.AVOID
