Great atmosphere and music.Shame about the lazy topless male bar staff.When I went to order my first set of drinks, the 2 topless bar staff were chatting together a couple of feet away.One of them looked at me with eye contact to serve me and when I started to order he turned away for a couple of seconds to finish the conversation with his colleague. So unbelievably rude and disrespectful.After an hour here, the bar staff continued to just hob nob and chat at the bar whilst dirty tables full of empties were just left for new customers to contend with.After paying £3 each to enter and paying top end bar prices, I expect more.The staff are paid to do a job and aren't doing so and are not being properly managed to ensure they are.After an hour, I asked one of the bar staff to come and wipe my table and he politely and willingly did so.He then half cleared the table next to us full of empties before disappearing never to return. The other tables were left uncleared.The table pictured was left like that for most of the night.Not proactive, considerate or hygienic.It's a great shame as I love this place.Get it sorted and respect your customers!

Loved it for a first visit. Small venue makes it cosy. Not a lot of seating so when crowded it'd be hard to find somewhere. Flashing lights my only issue due to them possibly setting of my fits.

wonderful place, had a lot of fun both tonight for the new year's party and on the 17th for the xmas drag queens show! everyone is really lovely and i felt really safe and like i could be myself! both the menager and the people working behind the bar are always really friendly and so these 5 stars really aren't enough for them, id give more if i could! absolutely recommended! :)

First time at sapphire tonight and had amazing night, with great drinks, good music, fantastic atmosphere and friend staff. The place looks great and the manager couldn’t do more for you and doing great job.

The most unwelcoming, boring, empty place with boring music where the DJ who is a sour faced 60 year old female imitator gets people thrown out just because he doesn’t like people’s faces. Avoid.

Sapphires is actually one of my favourite nights out in Boro. However.... The drag Queens do talk WAYYYY too much over the music.Fair enough if its lpart of the fun, But when you're trying to have a good time with you friends, getting ready for the chorus and it's just interrupted.. it just spoils the fun.Love the banter and chat! Just would be better if they let at least the chorus play?For example, sissy that walk came on and no point whilst that song was on I heard sissy that walk" and that's the BEST BIT!"

My friends and I arrived this evening. We are a group of 7 (2 households, first time we’ve mixed since 2020 and constantly doing lateral flows). We understood we would not be allowed to sit together, so asked if we could have a table of 3 and 4- we were clear in that they did not need to be together as we understand government guidelines and would not want any trouble. The bouncer was fine, then a member of staff started screaming that we couldn’t come in and they were taking tables of 6 only. We explained that 2 tables was perfectly fine and we understood their position, to which we were verbally abused again. Even the bouncer looked disappointed. Such a shame as we were celebrating all of our missed birthdays and were ready to spend hundreds of pounds. Either way, we found a local pub and will spend the money there. Best of luck to them!
