West Street Garage

I recently bought my car here when I had broke down on my way to Cornwall. They seemed like they would be able to fix it straight away. However a few days later it broke down again. After taking it to a local garage they informed me that this garage had actually fitted my starting motor incorrectly, damaging it. It was a complete waste of £500 as I had to buy a new starting motor three days later, however a local paced only charged me £200 so extremely overpriced and would not recommend.I also tried to get into contact with them shortly after to explain the situation but I received no reply.

Used it for years. Always great service and an honest opinion on what needs doing

I have a lowered vw passat and as I was driving to collect my kids from school the hose on my turbo came unattached, thankfully I was able to get immediate help from West Street garage and they were great, within minutes my car was back in working order. No hassle and great service, I'll definitely be returning.

Since using this garage early last year I have learnt they seriously overcharge. And worst of it, they replaced my wheel cylinders last year but they now need replacing again as they are leaking and not road legal. New garage I’m using was horrified saying the wheel cylinders should not be leaking again that quickly. So this garage has cost me a fortune. I suggest you AVOID.

I broke down today whilst travelling to work. I called west street who agreed to fit me in for a test to see what the problem was. Once found, they were able to fit me in and get my car all fixed. All of this was done within 3 hours and to a smashing standard! Could not have been more pleased with the service and for a great price too! Would 10/10 recommend and will be revisiting for my yearly MOT and Service!

Brought a vehicle in for two faults. One was fixed other I was given an explanation, a 5min drive disproved this. When I called to give them an opportunity to resolve they immediately were unavailable to repair. I returned for a diagnostic only to speak to another mechanic who gave me completely different information on both the fault and the availability. Shame as I thought they were a local reliable place. Clearly not

First time in using this garage and can certainly say will be using them again and would highly recommend them

Adrian has looked after our cars for over ten years and he always takes the time to do things properly. Very pleasant staff and great customer service. Highly recommended.

Brake on front wheel seized on A1 after several miles of stop-start 10 mph, with smoke and burning smell. (It had just been serviced by our home garage 2 weeks before with new front brake pads fitted.) After letting it cool, Google Maps got us to the nearest garage – West Street Garage in Stamford, who were amazing. Fitted new brake caliper and got us back on the road in time to reach Edinburgh that evening. 1,000 miles later (Cambs-Aviemore return), everything still fine. We can’t thank the West Street Garage team enough for their excellent service. Have only given 5 stars because you can’t give ten.
