Sports Direct Multi-Storey Car Park

If I could give no stars I would. Parked here recently and machines weren't working. Took photos of the machines as proof, needless to say I got a charge. Appealed based on the fact the machines weren't working and it got rejected as they are saying I could have paid online. 1 days parking has cost me 60 pound. I have also parked there after that 3 times when the machines weren't working properly so am expecting another 3 parking charges! Absolutely disgusting avoid like the plague!

*Avoid at busier times* Just had to sit for an hour and a half in a queue to exit the car park. Two members of staff were present but they did nothing to ease the congestion (there wasn't much they could do?) The car park itself is ok but it's just in a bad area for traffic, with one road in and one road out if the area.

WILL NEVER USE THIS CAR PARK AGAINI USED IT TWICE EARLIER THIS YEAR 2023 RECEIVED TWO PENALTY NOTICES FOR NON PAYMENT BECAUSE IT DIDNT RECOGNISE MY VRM . I APPEALED WITH PROOF OF PAYMENT WITH DIRECT DEBIT BANK STATEMENT . MANAGED TO GET PENALTY RECINDED . RIP OFF COMPANY

Lift hardly ever works and when you have to park on the roof for parent and child parking with a double pram AND still have to pay to leave because you've set up the pram in the rain, put the babies in to find out the lift is broken yet again, then to take the babies back to the car, load it up again and then find you're over the time to have to pay! Fuming!!!

This has to be the worst car park I've used in 25 years of driving.There are no signs telling you how or where to pay.There are too few ticket machines. We had to queue for at least 25 minutes to pay. Hate to think what it will be like closer to Christmas. People who were queuing with a child in a pushchair were stranded as the queue snaked all the way down the stair well.The ticket machine didn't scan our Sports Direct card either.Complete shambles. Won't use again.

Stairwell leading from Car Park is a disgusting. It has never been cleaned for months. It stinks of Urine I went into the store and saw the Assistant Manager who advised that you were between contracts. I have noticed a lot less people using the car park. The lift is also dirty but does not stock of urine. This is not what you expect in Southport.

OK, so you have to earn your cheap parking using this carpark, but if you're parking all day it's worth it. On entering the cameras take a photo of your vehicle & numberplate. You pay when you leave, but there are only 3 machines to pay at on the stairwell to the left of Sports Direct (if you were stood facing the street entrance its the grey metal door). We didn't have to queue to pay as it was quiet but reading other reviews when busy it could take some time.I used the first machine on the left. Enter your vehicle reg and the machine will show you a photo of your vehicle. If you've bought anything at Sports Direct scan your reciept barcode (lower left on the machine) and your first 2 hrs are refunded.Now make sure you have some change as I couldn't get the card machine to work but it accepted coins with a small delay. I requested a reciept but didn't get one. Then drive out of the carpark.PRICES30 mins - 90p2 hours - £1.503 hours - £2.9012 hours - £3.90Closes at 21:30 but the notices say it closes earlier on Saturdays. I believe there's an early bird ticket if you arrive before 9am. This is NOT a 24hour carpark and your vehicle will get locked in! So absolute bargain but not without its negatives.

Car park is a nightmare, nowhere did it explain that your cars registration is read as you entered so I wandered round looking for a ticket machine luckily another parking customer was able to explain this to me. There were no signs to direct you to the paying machine which is only located on one stairwell and as I was at the other end of the car park I used the other stairs. Ended up driving out thinking maybe there was a machine on exit which of course there was not. I then had to park my car in an awkward place nearby to walk back in to the car park and search for the machine to pay. Absolutely disgusted!! I bet they make loads of money in the £60 fine that is enforced if customers don't pay before leaving! Simply because people can't find where to pay! PLEASE PUT SOME SIGNS UP!!

The 3 ticket machines on 1/F were not working today. You could actually see how anxious people became, which was reasonable given all the bad comments about fines. The one remaining machine on 2/F could receive payment but couldn't print the receipt.

Do not park here. I parked on Sunday and paid the £1.00 charge. I was only there just over an hour and keyed in my Reg but somehow didn’t put in the exact number (very dinghy place) got a £60 fine. Appealed but still had to pay so be careful and avoid. Would never park there again or even visit Southport shops again. Terrible car park.
