Food was decent but not very hot. Service was poor. Maybe they were understaffed but they made no effort to clear away plates after main course and we had to chase up drinks orders.

Quite liked it here. We've visited a few brewers fayres recently, this is one of the good ones. Due to our previous experience at the twirl of hay, we were worried about receiving sub standard food as per the others, it was not the case. The kitchen staff here seem to take a bit of pride with the food they're serving, which which was a refreshing change. The kids loved the soft play whist waiting for dinner, I enjoyed a game of pool in the bar.

I went here because i was stopping at the Premier Inn.I Ordered a starter, of natcho and burger . With a pint of beer.Everything was cold. Except for the beer. I sent the burger back, it came back with fresh chips and still cold.Staff were poor.To get served was like walking in glue.May I suggest you sack the manager.

Pub is FILTHY. Management clearly not doing regular checks. We'd booked a table at 12 noon for a small family meal (3 adults, 2 young children.) On arrival at 11:40, the bar was unmanned so we couldn't get a drink before our meal. The arm chairs in the bar area were black with dirt.We then got seated at our reserved table when the restaurant opened, with the children going into the soft play whilst we waited for our meals. It was absolutely disgusting! I don't know how they can charge £3.50/kid. (I've been in another Brewer's pub and their soft play was free and cleaner.) The toddler area was full of dust, dirt, rubbish that was easy for children to pick up. (See photos)The main area isn't for adults to go into, but my son had a stomach bug the following day/evening after our visit. Both kids had dirty clothes and black hands after being in there, and whilst I cleaned them before they ate, I do think my son has got ill from the poor hygiene at Burleydam. After seeing how bad the kids area was, I noticed the carpet around our table didn't look like it had been vacuumed recently. There was dust gathered around the lamps and radiators. The highchair we were given had not been cleaned properly.Service wasn't brilliant - mixed up our orders for food intolerance items to be omitted, despite the server saying the plate was the meal without. Forgot to bring the condiments we'd been asked if we'd like. Had to chase up a drink that was missed. It was the start of the shift, so doesn't bode well if you visit later on.The food was nice enough and the staff pleasant but the grotty areas have put me off visiting again.

1 star is too good. Avoid the place at all cost. Waited an hour for main course that didn’t turn up. Several other customers said they had waited 90 minutes and when cold food was served it was sent back. I got a refund for the 2 main courses that I didn’t receive. Manager can’t manage and is extremely rude. Yes it is your job to manage. Your feeble excuses are of no interest to me and I care even less that you started at 5am.

We were staying at the adjacent Premier Inn and couldn't really see anywhere else to eat around, so opted for the meal deal of £24.99 for a 2 course dinner, drink and unlimited English breakfast or so we thought.... when we entered the restaurant a young waitress asked if we had booked and said where we could sit, not near the fire as that was for a different menu, breakfast we pressume. Told to order at till when ready, but no advice given on menu and couldn't see any small print indicating what was and wasn't on offer. So upon choosing we try to order, only to discover that anything worth having had a supplement slapped on it from £1.99 to £3.99. The only drink included was lager, even strongbow had 50p added. So we had Doom Bar from the bottle as extra charges applied for draft. After about 15 minutes we had to ask for our drinks, bearing in mind there was us a table of two, another two and a table of three. So hardly rushed, and the server said brought you a glass as not sure if you wanted one. Why would we want to drink from the bottle?? So after changing our minds on the food as the charges simply aren't worth it for the quality, I had chicken goujons fried, more batter than chicken and dry with a bbq sauce. My partner had potato skins, which were ok but more than likely microwaved. I was half expecting the dinner to arrive when starter plates still on table, but they were took away. I chose the triple pie selection, which came with mash or chips and the young waitress had to be prompted to notice there was a choice, although I'm sure the till would of done it eventually. My partner had the chicken and ribs with the supplement charge. This was ok, although fries very well done. The only saving grace of this place was the breakfast, which an order was taken, so not unlimited as the advertisement suggests. Which is fine as there was ample supplied, poached egg and bacon cooked perfect. But the coffee machine was broken, thought the bar would of had one to use, but obviously not. So if we did stay again, would have only the breakfast as its worth it, but not the evening meal. Think service needs to be looked at here, as weren't asked at any point if all ok. And the odd bits of rubbish on the floor, which when empty really not acceptable.

Oh dear, took advantage of the 50% deal on mains, surely if you are going to offer a deal to increase the amount of people visiting the venue it would make sense to staff the pub. Queued to order, was told 40min wait, luckily our meals arrived within 30mins, food was adequate although temperature was just about acceptable, I hate cold food, finished our meal but had to enquire when we would be served our desert. All in all we won't return even with 50% off, management need to sort out staffing and get the place cleaned.

I have been three times and every time the service is a shambles. The last time we were there we waited over an hour for desserts. I got a refund, packed up all our stuff to leave with our kids and on the way out or deserts turned up. The food is ok and the place is nice. It's a shame about the service. The staff member at the play area was first class though. She did everything she could to help.

Stayed next door and ate here last year for wife's birthday and was good so brought whole family this dear me it was terrible. When in the queue people were queuing for refunds not to order. we waited for our drinks and they never came. Went to the bar and the lady said she had no wine glasses. I said what are those she said they are for champagne but you can't have them. What about gin glasses no you can't have them either! Eventually she let us have champagne glasses. The soft drinks bar was not serviced and drip trays overflowing so you could not place your glass without getting it wet and dirty. The gas had gone on the drinks so we're flat and syrupy. After an hour the food came. It was stone plonk cold. Sent it back, came back straight away with hot coleslaw. I actually told the waitress to ask the person to come out and explain how they could let such poor food out of the kitchen and she went in but he wouldn't come out. If I was him I would be embarrassed too. There was lots and lots of unhappy customers and some were aggressive which is wrong. The poor waiting staff were taking all the flak for the terrible food being sent out from the kitchen. I've never seen anything like it. Finally the very nice and pleasant jade agreed to sort out refund but I really felt for her as she was just fire fighting. The waiting staff were bringing out food and the tables had been abandoned and refunds already given . The place has gone down hill, it's very dirty and unkempt and sticky. The toilets are discussing and really smell. Don't eat here . Don't bring family here .

Stayed at the Premier Inn next door. Bought a £24.99 deal and headed to the restaurant to eat. There's a surcharge on Madri I found out, 99p I think, and £1.99 surcharge for chicken and ribs. Being completely honest the food was fairly poor, see pics, nothing special, have had much better at other places similar. Needs a full revamp to be honest.Having said that, the breakfast was nice, although poached eggs were overdone. The service was great, nice, friendly, efficient staff, its the food and general environment that let's it down. Also, it advises to book as limited spaces.... It's huge, and was completely dead apart from the bar area when I was there. There was absolutely no need to book!
