Pets at Home Bury St Edmunds

Booked in a nail trim for my dog. Second time I had used Pets at Home Groomers. First time was great as my dog can be very anxious about getting her nails cut but they dealt with it really well as 1 groomer comforted her while the other cut the nails. I booked the appointment again this week and the groomer said she will ensure 2 people will be available to help with the nails. Turned up today, told the groomer I've booked for 2 staff members and he took her from me. I wandered round the shop and when I returned, he was cutting her nails on his own. My dog was very stressed and trying to jump off the table. When he finished I asked why he didn't have someone with him and he said the other groomer was busy and didn't know why it had been booked in as 2 people when he was the only one free. He said she's no trouble so it was fine. I told him she is now unnecessarily stressed and this is not what I booked. He made no apology and when I said I won't be coming back he made no comment. Not professional. No thought for the animal. I would not recommend them to anyone.

The staff are friendly, not very helpful but friendly none the less.If you know your stuff, it no longer matters, because the staff think they know more, and they often don't .There's a great selection of stuff for most small animals.There's some live animals but you need to pass an MI5 safety inspection and Spanish inquisition to actually purchase one .The dog groomers are an absolute nightmare, really really bad cut and just take lumps out here and there.They had zero idea on how to handle and cut a Maltese poodle.All in all, the store is horrific, but has good stock of foods and basic meds for small animals.If you can avoid it, avoid it at all costs.

I came in this afternoon to buy puppy food and was served by Alice. I had been experiencing issues with my VIP membership at home; Alice was superbly helpful, patient and polite, managing to sort out the issues and enable access to the account and its vouchers. I would like to thank Alice for her excellent service.

Dog friendly, great store had exactly what I wanted, friendly staff

A lot of shelves were completely empty. On asking a member of staff they did say that they were experiencing some stock problems due to a new supplier. Hopefully it will be resolved soon as we need some supplies for our daughters pet rabbit . Normally Pets at home always have a good stock but not today .

We have our cockapoo, Frank groomed here by Dan. He’s the only person we’ve found that can do a good trim on our very hyper/badly behaved boyThanks Dan

Pets at home is broadly a decent place to shop for pet supplies, however, on the food side, there are often shortages and popular lines run out quickly. I generally monitor prices at zooplus and also on Amazon just to make sure that any given time I’m getting the best deal.

Great store, incredibly friendly staff. Not the biggest Pets at Home, but well stocked with everything you'll need for your furry friends.Vets for Pets instore are also very good, we have all of our animals registered with them and have never received anything less than exemplary service.
