First time I’ve ever been there and really impressed! Only had the afternoon and it was really good.Wide open views of the estuary and Colne river. Selection of birds to spot and watch.Other visitors were enthusiastic over the insects, flying and crawling, that were on the increase! According to them!Nice visitor centre, helpful and knowledgeable staff , drinks and facilities all there!

Beautifully set out, love the picture perfect lookout at the hides. The paths are easy to walk on.A super cup of tea or coffee with a tasty snack awaits you at the restaurant after your hike or bird watching. Loved visiting everyday during my 2 hour break

I’m a late newcomer to bird watching, visited this reserve twice now, very friendly and helpful staff. Easy parking. Amazing location overlooking the Colne estuary and salt marshes, a true Essex coastal landscape. Spotted Great White Egrets, Avocets, Curlews, Cormorants, Dabchicks, Grebes too many geese and ducks to list. Also Buzzard, Greater Spotted Woodpeckers etc, etc. many deer, rabbits, squirrels. Walk quietly through the woods and you will always find something interesting.

Fantastic for walking and watching nature. Essex wildlife trust fingeringhoe wick is the ewt head quarters and is a fantastic nature reserve. With some nice bird hides to sit in and enjoy the many bird species. There are many other different species including adders and a abundance of butterfly and dragonfly to see in the summer months. There was even a couple of turtle dove when I visited a couple of weeks ago. The staff are very nice and the cafe has some great food . Well worth a visit

Great place to go bird watching, we finally managed to get there at the right time to watch the tide fall. It was amazing very peaceful and so interesting to watch the birds arrive as the water level fell. Lots of hides to watch the birds from. The pathway signs have recently been updated and it's now much easier to find your way around. The shop is really nice and very well stocked.
