Mrs Howat's Vintage Barbers

Been coming here for a good few years used to be a great little barbers but just isn’t the same anymore, atmosphere has completely changed mostly because owners have lost complete interest and are never there any longer. Marcus was always a great barber but has seemed to have lost his passion and edge I don’t blame him at all as he’s now been left on his own. Overall I think I’m going to have to look to find somewhere else to get my hair cut as they still charge premium prices for not a great overall service as it now also takes weeks to get booked in as everyone is trying to get into one barber when it was previously 3 or 4 to choose from.

Best Barber I've been to by far. Marcus did a great job sorting me out after a bad cut elsewhere, just in time for my wedding.

Excellent service friendly and always get what you want

First time visiting and I won't go anywhere else now. Honestly first place that's ever done my hair and literally got it perfect without having to show pictures etc. Never been so happy with it. Will be back every few weeks now ! Thank you Marcus & Mrs Howats xx

Best barbers in Dumfries, definitely recommend them if u want a pro cut at a good price, they gave me the best cut I've ever had and they even cut it to what I asked them to. You will have to book at least a week in advance to get a chance to book a time slot, by downloading the app called NEARCUT" from the app store or play store and then search them up on the app

I don’t usually write reviews on here.I was working in the area today and Decided to surprise my partner who is a big fan of Cole and Abbie. We live In Pocklington near York which is 3 hours away. I do really respect what the girls do for local charities. I used to play football for local charities so I know the importance to doing it.I thought it would be a good idea to pop in, meet Cole or Abbie and get a selfie with a haircut from them. I love a barbers and for me to send a picture to my partner that I was there without telling her I was going would have been a very fun surprise to her.Unfortunately neither of them were there and bookings were full but the lads who were working there today were brilliant. Very kind and also let me get my selfie in the barbers.The barbers is a brilliant styled place and the lads there were a credit to the business they have there. Thanks to them for their time and kindness they had with me. The selfie I took of me in store did the trick and she was very jealous. Next time I am in the area I’ll be sure to book in advanced which is another good sign this is a TOP barbers shop.

No response from my email. No phone number. No online booking system. Not interested in making a booking through a QR code.

I always get nervous trying a new barbers! Obviously we all want a great cut but for me it’s important to feel safe within the shop too. Is the place I’m visiting somewhere which is inclusive and supportive of diversity? I had my first cut here today by Brodie. He was really friendly and re-assured me after I expressed I was anxious. He did a 10/10 job. I’d definitely return. Bonus points for getting my beard super sharp as I have like 19292 twists in the way the hair grows which makes it tricky haha! Thanks Brodie. Marcus and I think Josh were also in the shop, they were friendly too!
