Our first visit in a good long while... but it didn't disappoint!!Food was great with the starters only taking about 10mins to come out, tasty chicken triple nibbles. Followed by what has to be one of the best combo meals!! I couldn't even finish it!! Not through lack of trying either!!We left completely stuffed and only spending around £50 for the two of us.Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.Highly recommended

Great selection of food at really good prices.I unfortunately chose roast beef which was tough and tasteless.Lovely server exchanged my meal and even gave me fresh vegetables so all good in the end.Roast turkey was enjoyed by my grand-daughter and a crispy chicken sandwich by my husband and daughter.We were on a birthday celebration and server took the homemade cake away and popped it back at the relevant time with candles (which we had forgotten to take) and proceeded to sing Happy Birthday"We had a really happy family meal and would recommend The Star for great value dining experience."

Hadn't been here for years and glad we picked this place as the food was really nice. As far as pub food goes it was well cooked, I had the mixed grill and the steak came out perfectly rare. It was quite busy but seemed to all running smoothly and guests were served pretty quickly with a conveyor belt consistency.I have a picky ten year old who devoured the Mac and cheese (impressive anywhere if he eats a lot).Customer service was decent but can't say there was anything that stood out as exceptional or in the realms of excellence but good I think fairly sums it up. Lacks a good front of house person if anything, someone to guide customers / manage diners etc.Atmosphere wasn't great but the venue can only control so much. Parents not parenting their kids and lots of screams and loud outbursts did affect the atmosphere to some extent. As a parent I don't feel bad for saying this as manners and respect seemed to of failed with the family we were sat opposite to.The outdoor area looks like a great spot for days with better weather and had a few heated seating areas / huts for the colder evenings as well as an outdoor bar area for a quicker service . I'll definitely return here for the garden next summer if not before.Nice and clean on the whole, can't complain about plates , glasses or cutlery or any horizontal surface but lots of food marks on the wood panelling next to the tables that could do with a clean. For somewhere that seems pretty decent otherwise it is a bit of a letdown that could easily be got on top of with a quick wipe up.I'll definitely return here in future and would recommend to anyone looking for a decent steak and a pint or just a bit of your typical pub grub.

Great food,service was very good & there was 9 of us,all meals were delivered together & we didn't wait long. Staff were friendly & place has a very nice homely atmosphere. Parking right outside,wheelchair access. In all an amazing experience,would highly recommend. We had a lovely Sunday roast & at 2 meals for £15 very good value for money.

I went to this restaurant with my work (an activity centre for adults with learning disabilities) and the staff couldn't have been more helpful if they tired! From the moment they arrived, to having to order over 9 different meals separately at the tills, to the food coming out within minutes! It was an amazing experience overall and the service users had a wonderful time!A truly wonderful experience especially this close to Christmas! Thank you all so much will definitely be returning again!Merry Christmas to you all!

Stunning. The breakfast burrito was absolutley mouth watering. I didnt want it to end. So impressed. I am very judgy about breakfasts but this was very special. And so reasonably priced.

Been a few times and it’s always been pleasant however during my last visit, Friday 27th Oct - there was too much seasoning on the salt and pepper fries (enough so that I was able to create a pile and the end of my meal) and the chicken was raw so wasn’t eaten - other family members had similar issues with their meals.

Visited for the first time with my friend today for a cheeky bottle of Prosecco and a sharing platter!Staff were very attentive, polite and we had the best time! Good grub also and reasonably priced! Would definitely recommend!
