A great pub where you can chill. The staff are welcoming, and locals are lovely to be with. One can easily sit there as the drinks are good, too.

We visited the Lower Chequer for drinks on a Friday night and the first thing we noticed was the friendly atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the drinks were very reasonable compared to other places in Sandbach. We didn't eat there so couldn't comment on the food. They had some great live entertainment with a singer which was enjoyed by a lot. The toilets however were very unpleasant which would be my main negative about the experience.

Drinkers pub at the top of a cobbled street reminiscent of the Hovis advert. Done out with all sorts of vintage stuff inside, including some impressive taxidermy - the cross eyed boar's head a particular favourite.Lofty stools give an excellent view of the bar and sky sports on the telly, a definite plus point of the saloon.

Excellent Sunday dinner today. Fantastic value, lovely food, and great service. 7 adults & 2 kids, so not the easiest group to deal with, but the Lower Chequer staff were on top form today. Thanks very much
