Beautiful rural church that's steeped in history. It's open most days for a few hours midday..needs some restoration like so many of the churches in the UK, so if you have a look around put in a pound or two in the restoration box to help with the cost of repairs to this Beautiful old building.

Nice church, with very interesting links to the Knights Hospitaller, which it was gifted to in 1193. The church has the oldest identifiable tomb slabs in Norfolk, dating to the early 13th century and believed to be for Matilda, Countess of Clare and her Hospitaller son, James. Matilda was the widow of Roger, Earl of Clare, who founded a Knights Hospitaller Commandery close by in 1193. At 99 feet, the tower is the tallest in Norfolk. The church also has an interesting carved roof and rood screen along with two original medieval stone altar slabs.

A very picturesque perpendicular style Church from the 12th century . I couldn't help myself stopping for a look inside and was pleased to find it open . A wonderful lectern was inside with a Pelican carving . Pelicans were said to have pierced their own breast with their beak to feed their young with their own blood (now that's taking motherhood seriously) . Hence they are frequently represented in Christian art to symbolise Christ sacrificing himself for man . A War Memorial in the graveyard always reminds me that nomatter how things seem wether Welsh , Scottish , Irish or English we still have a lot in common . R.I.P. to all those lost but always remembered .
