This branch at 38-39 Elm Row, Edinburgh is Permanently CLOSED. All signage removed from outside. This may explain why the previous reviewer is still waiting for a delivery after 10 hours...To the owners reply: I did not recommend the Railway Lamb Curry, Google somehow did. Nor did I refer to the Leith branch or any other. I simply warned others that this branch is closed, so they don't waste time as we did searching for it without signage. That was my personal experience. Perhaps you can concentrate on echoing that warning to customers, and not on finding fault with factual reviews? Closed means CLOSED.

Absolutely ridiculous! AVOID – DO NOT RUIN YOUR EVENING!We have had a couple of issues with Slumdog in the past and had been avoiding them for a while because of this. However, last night we made a mistake and decided to give them another chance- oh dear much to our huge regret. …. so the Saga begins…19:20 ordered with a delivery time of 20:10. They use their own delivery drivers so we weren’t able to track through Deliveroo. They accepted the order straight away and time ticks on…20:30- I began calling the restaurant for an update.Call 1: No answerCall 2: They hung up on meCall 3: Told me they had just leftCall 4: Told me they didn’t have our order… then later said oh yea they were on the way on a busThey then called me to tell me they were outside… you guessed it… they were nowhere to be seen.A series of phone calls between us, the delivery driver and restaurant. They had gone to an incorrect address- a couple of miles away- not sure how they managed this… knowing our postcode?Phone calls were abrupt, rude, full of excuses and absolutely no apology. So my husband ends up heading outside to retrieve the food at… 21:40 – yep nearly 2.5 hours after we has ordered. We had understandably already begun heating up some soup and toast… we were hungry by then and pretty wound-up by the horrific service we received.Ah so now the food….Without surprise… cold.Incorrect item , very soggy excuse for poppadom’s and the best part… mouldy fish pakoras. My husband and I were just in complete shock as to how disastrous this whole experience was and incompetent the restaurant were at dealing with their mistakes. Please, please please. Do not ruin your evening by ordering from them. There are plenty of much better options out there. AVOID them!

An honest reviewIf you get “western” curries they’re actually disgusting. The garlic chilli chicken tastes like chilli powder in water. The korma tastes like cream in water, absolutely zero flavour. The food isn’t cheap so paying this for a good curry is fine paying it for a bad one stings. The karahi and madras are absolutely class.Without exaggeration best breads (roti, naan, shawarma) I have ever had in my life and I eat a LOT of Indian food. Who ever does the breads here is a bread god they are second to absolutely none. With the wraps I found the chilli sauce far spicier than usual 1 and I thought I liked spice - garlic mayo which I normally find bland actually works well because the meat is properly seasoned. You’ll not be disappointed with how seasoned and fresh the meat is no cheap gristle here.Loads of fresh veg (bar the korma) and when ordering king prawn dishes they’re really generous with amount of prawns.Definitely recommend just steer away from the typical western curries which are 2/10 and work your way through the wraps/starters/sides/traditional curries which are 10000/10Delivery driver is super lovely too!

I’ve ordered my last night’s dinner here and completely disappointed. I felt bloated all the night and Naan is completely inedible. Food doesn’t seems fresh at all and looks like it was prepared weeks ago.

The restaurant has a very nice amd warm ambience. Food was also great in terms of the taste and the portion size. The staff was very accommodating with our dietary needs. Will definitely visit again ☺

The food was amazing & the service was great! We had a voucher so decided to get a few different things. The haggis pakora was fantastic! We had the chicken & haggis pakora, mixed rice, saag aloo, aloo gobi (cauliflower was amazing) & korma. There aren’t any baby changing facilities - not an issue for us but just in case.

Tasty Indian food by kind servers. They were accommodating if you tell them your spice levels. Also it was one of the few places that was open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I would like them to add hot beverages in their menu.

I'm still waiting for my food since last night. I decided to pick up my dinner after ordering it from Uber Eats only to find out the place is closed for good, the signage is gone, as well as my money. When I called they asked me to drive to Corstorphine to pick up my food as they are closed for refurbishment; they were happy to cancel the order. No apologies, no attempt to do a service recovery. No food, no service and no money back, I had to complain to Uber Eats to get my money back. Such a waste of time, money and gasoline. You've lost another customer, you're golden era is over.
