Amazing visit. Although there is not much left of the fort ruins, the layout is clear to see. There is also a video and model of what the fort looked like in its day.The museum is also well worth a look around. Great temporary exhibition on the building of the wall and lots of activities for children. One of the best museums on the whole of the Roman wall.

Would be an interesting afternoon out for history-inclined young people but there’s not much to see and the exhibits are pretty minimal.

Visited with a school party, fantastic day out and plenty to see and do. Really enjoyed the viewing platform and the different galleries within the museum showing the history of the area.Large parking area, easy access for all, with a cafe, shop and attractions on site.

I've driven past Segedunum loads of times but have never been in. There's a lot more to see inside than you would think. The views from the top of the tower are amazing. See photos.

Loved the viewing tower, able to oversee the remains of the roman fort and the surrounding area, dominated by the shipping industry (or remains of it). Museum was passable, would be OK for non specialists visit but descriptions were quite brief. Cafe was not open today

A really convenient museum located just off the Newcastle Metro system in Wallsend. If you're traveling with kids and young adults Segedunum is worth a stop. The elevator and views of the surrounding excavation and city are really nice. It's a very well thought out place, which gives children the opportunity to explore on their own. Personally, the blend of Roman history and the shipbuilding on the upper floor made for an eclectic experience.

Excellent museum with viewing Tower. Unfortunately galleries 1 and 2 and the bathhouse reconstruction were closed, but it's only a short walk to view the footings of the actual bathhouse.

Had all the potential to be a great day out, spoiled by a closed bath house ( the only part of the grounds you don't have to use your imagination for) and a filthy set of steps leading to a jaded viewing tower that urgently needs basic repair work. The museum was well laid out and interesting. There are far better parts of Hadrians, wall to visit.
