Portman Motors

Before I even visited Portman Motors, I have received nothing but 5* customer service. The customer service team were superb in helping me emailing back and forth efficiently. I then made the decision to visit Portman Motors to purchase my first motorbike. Staff were very welcoming and helped answer all of my 500 questions, even kept the wife chatting away. I had a few bikes in mind and they happily brought out the bikes I requested and allowed me to have a feel of them. We finally agreed on what would be my first bike and I made a deposit. I paid off the remaining balance and 24 hours later my bike is being delivered to my house with ample communication throughout. Can not fault Portman at all, wonderfully run family business with great staff, great bikes and just an overall very pleasant experience. Look forward to dealing with them in future. I didn’t buy my Royal Alloy scooter from this dealer. When I bought it in 2022, there was only one dealer in the UK who had the colour and model that I wanted - so I jumped on it.As my local Glasgow RA dealer though, I recently used them to carry out the scooter’s first service and to look into a few niggles I’d had with the scooter since purchase.Have to say, Brian in the main showroom was just as helpful as possible and Alex, the mechanic is one of the friendliest, most knowledgable and decent guys you could ever hope to meet. He explained so much about the scooter to me and fixed the issues I was having with it - I could listen to his experience and advice all day.My only down side of the experience is that I wished I’d waited and bought the scooter from Portman’s. An amazing experience. Thank you.

Edit: Notice the owner asked me to message him to sort issues, didn't bother to sort them when I complained. They wouldn't even respond most of the time. They didn't even service the bike properly!I initially posted a more detailed review and deleted it, but posting it again because I've had nothing but issues.They lied about having a bike in stock for 5 months. Ignored my emails. Kept it hostage for a 'covid fee', sent it to me damaged then ignored me until I threatened to return it under the consumer rights act. Didn't actually service the bike or calibrate the dash.They told me they had a bike in stock, took a deposit. Took them 5 months to deliver it even though they told me 'It will just be two more weeks' for 5 months whilst keeping my deposit. They knew the bike would not be delivered until the end of the year, in winter and unusable due to the conditions. They still kept it hostage until I paid them a 'COVID fee' even though I had already been invoiced.I contacted the manufacturer; who didn't take 2-4 weeks to reply to each email I sent unlike Portman Motors. Initially they made a mistake and told me my bike was delivered weeks ago ( I don't think it was a mistake, Portman probably just sold it to someone else) then told me it was due on x date.A female employee from Portman was shocked that I had contacted the manufacturer (because Portman were not communicating) and became extremely condescending, defensive and an all-round 'Karen'.The bike was delivered damaged, communication somehow got worse and it took months to get Portman to fix the damage.After winter the bike had some cobwebs and was transported to Portman, on the first service the same cobwebs were somehow on the bike after it had been 'serviced' and transported hundreds of miles.The rear brake is spongey and does not respond correctly. They said they tested it and it was fine. Evidently not. The display is set to the wrong time and speedometer and odometer do not work correctly.

I bought a lexmoto lxr from here and two months of riding it , it broke down the guys here handled everything for me got it sorted very fast .the fault was not there's it was a manufacturing fault .they were very professional and kept me upto date with everything ,it was a big job the bike ran perfect when I picked it up. They kept it clean and tidy .I would highly recommend anyone to visit and buy a motorbike from here

Bought a SYM NHT 125, The guys in here are very experienced and was a pleasure to deal with. helped me get on the road quickly and helped me with any questions i had, going above and beyond. if you are looking for your next motorbike i would highly reccomend visiting these guys.

Bought my wife's scooter out of hear she loves it

Absolutely disgusting service, honestly don’t know how this garage is still operating. The customer service is just beyond shocking avoid this garage at all costs !My boyfriend went to this garage for his 125cc bike and the experience from start to finish was just absolutely atrocious the manager is very hostile and rude. The manager told my boyfriend to “fuck off and to come and collect the bike as soon as possible” although it was there own fault for having the bike in the garage for over 3 weeks and DID NOT LOOK AT THE BIKE ONCE. Then we had discovered that they had taken the battery out and not bothered to put it back in (they sent it back thankfully) but this garage is a hazard not a help

Bought a Royal Alloy. So far, so , it's been good, early days yet.I am planning to do an extensive tour of the Highlands. Will be making videos and posting on my YouTube channel SeeScotland.Hopefully, I will do updates on its performance over the next couple of years.

Range of bikes limited and no sales person available so we were just ignored. Could have had a sale but we're not interested. Sales people awful. Good god it gets worse. Try to book in for services. Services customers are paying for and no response. How do you make money when you just ignore customers.
