Great old world pub. Friendly bar staff and a warm atmosphere.Interesting collection of miniature alcohol bottles, photos and paintings.Lovely warm fire.

Booked to stay here for Isle of Wight festival. Was unable to come so cancelled the booking well within the cancellation period. It was confirmed that this was the case at the time and that the money would be refunded. It is now 2 months since we cancelled and after repeated unanswered emails and phone calls it feels that our only option will be to pursue additional action and the money is a huge sum to just lose and be ignored over.Disgusting customer serviceSteer clear.

We just dropped in for a beer. Nice place with a good atmosphere. A good selection of well kept beers.Service was traditional British pub standard. The glasses could be cleaner.

Should be a 0 star review!Terrible experience during cowes week.I asked for a pint and the drip tray was poured in at the end to 'add foam'. After rejecting this pint the manager was called over and she wasn't accepting of my comments and very rashly gave me another.I went back later in the evening and asked for a double rum and coke in a large glass, the cost of this was justified by the £4 shots and two cokes, despite the coke coming from the tap...I mentioned this to the owner of the pub who had no concern of this and responded with 'well done'.The worst thing I witnessed that evening was a guy who's first language wasn't English ordered some drinks. He changed his order slightly and the manager who was serving then decided to pause serving until he said please. He was a little confused and she then got very angry and started shouting at him expressing how bar staff aren't less of people than customers. And swore at him to get out.At this pub customers are treated like dirt.Cowes week is an international event and treating foreign visitors this way is disgusting.If you have the choice to go elsewhere definitely do!Staff and the owner should seriously reconsider what industry they work in

Popped in one lunchtime to try the menu. Had the Fish and chips and is was very nice so we booked a table for four one evening.The food was great as was the beer and the atmosphere. Will definitely be going back.

Nice pub, I believe they do rooms and food but had neither, bar maid not very attentive or smiley, shame as this would definitely of enhanced the experience, but all in all warm ,cosy and a good stop off to warm up.

A nice looking pub. Sign says everyone and everything welcome on the front but the barmaid couldn't be any more opposite to this. Really put a downer on the pub.
