We call it the excuse pub at work, always a reason why you can't have a table or you can't have food, apparently understaffed even when there are only 1 or 2 tables being served in the middle of a weekday. Staff won't even look at you when you come in if they don't feel like having any more customers. I get that there can be pressure on staff, but it's hard to keep a straight face when they tell you they are too busy in an empty building.Food was decent if you can get a table.

Food was good when we finally had our order taken. Waitress cleared tables after we had our main course and we asked to order dessert, she handed us the dessert menu then that was it, she kept walking past and totally avoided us, 30 minutes later I had to go find someone to take our order. When we finally finished dessert 2hours and 45minutes after we arrived we then had difficulty getting the bill the waitress told us oh at the bar in a really off way. Needless to say we won’t be returning as service was a real let down.

A little busy as it was Father's Day, but food was fine although they forgot to bring the ice cream requested with the mains as one of party unable to eat solids so by the time it was served, the diner didn't have enough time to eat it as unable to digest quickly! Staff were friendly & helpful otherwise.

Strongly suggest you don't visit here! Was told no food at 7:45 on a Monday due to staff meeting - who holds a staff meeting in the middle of the evening? This place apparently! Staff really couldn't be bothered and wouldn't serve you a drink unless you drank it in your room!!! No atmosphere and really, really poor service.

Booked a meal for a Christmas social 16 colleagues, food was tremendous value for money. Wide selection on the menu. Everyone had the courses at the same time ,no one was waiting, service was superb

We were served by Maddie from beginning to end and she was such a delight.There were four of us and went for the “two for “deal. Two of us had the smothered chicken and it was so tender with the toppings being perfectly matched as regards taste and quantity. The chips were to die for and I am fussy about my chips. One of my friends had the gammon which had the choice of either , or , or both egg pineapple.I would have liked my garlic bread to have a little more garlic butter on it but that might not suit everyone.I ordered a salad to go with it and it was a lovely mixture of sweet corn , peppers , tomatoes , cucumber and lettuce. Very nice .We all had our favourite puddings. Mine was Betty apple caramel with custard. Two of my friends had the flake and chocolate nibbles sundae which they enjoyed but it only had one chocolate nibble on it !!It’s always good value food here . It’s one of our go to places when in Bodmin

Visited for a meal and place wasn't busy. Ordered fish to be told it wasn't available due to a fryer not working. Should have been advised when given the menu! Ordered starters and mains. Drinks arrived quick but an hour later no food had arrived. Then starters arrived for a family who arrived half hour after us so had enough, paid for our drinks and left. We live local and will not return!

There was half an hour wait before the food arrived. The curry was warm at best. The garlic mushrooms were so overcooked you couldn't put a fork into them. But staff were good.

Usually go for breakfast here which is basically faultless. Great choice of foods and top tier service. However I took the family for dinner here recently and the food was good but nothing to write home about, took us nearly half hour to be asked if we wanted drinks and nearly an hour to receive our starters. The restaurant wasn't busy and there were plenty of staff.

Went with a family member for a birthday meal. Really enjoyed the roast especially the roast potatoes (had extra). Steak was cooked well and food hot. Sharer platter enough for three of us and desserts delicious. Staff member knew it was for a birthday and sang Happy Birthday, made it special for her. Will go again.
