Mid 2023: Dim Sum just like, maybe, better than Hong Kong’s restaurants. Every dish is heat and delicious. The big boss is always looking to help in the restaurant. He giving sweets to my daughter every time after I paid the bill.Late 2023: As the cook was gone to another restaurant to work, the food quality changed to lower. The boss has gone also. Most of the staff gone.

Stumbled across this place on a hungover Sunday afternoon. I’m not local so I didn’t know where to eat. But my god was it a good choice. Hands down the best Chinese I’ve ever eaten. Once I walked in and was offered a Chinese or English menu and the place full of Asian families enjoying Sunday dinner i knew I was onto a winner. Super clean open kitchen too. We stuffed ourselves and didn’t feel overly full or thirsty like you do after a Chinese. All the meat was fall off the bone tender and fresh. Duck was amazing.

Nice place to eat if you are tired of eating good food with nice ambiance. You enter the restaurant and you are being cautioned with only cash accepted"

The Happiness Inn is always a lovely place to go for a Chinese meal. Fair prices with a ton of options to choose from.Staff are helpful and food is really good (there's a reason I keep returning). You can call in advance or turn up and they will happily seat you if there is space (most of the time there is).10/10 would definitely reccomend to anyone wanting a great Chinese meal in town.

I am looking for authentic" Cantonese style food in Newcastle. The 1 other "recommended" restaurant inside Chinatown was booked for a wedding. A local Chinese told me to visit this restaurant a short walk from Chinatown.I ordered exclusively 3 seafood dishes: scallops

For the time being, it is the best dim sum I have eaten in the UK。highly recommended。I drove a long way to go there, but I will go again for food。最重要係呢到飲普洱有茶味

There isn’t an option to leave a review without any stars. If I could I will not give them any stars. I went to have lunch with a friend and my 4 months old baby yesterday around 2 pm. There were only three tables in the restaurant including us. My 4 MONTHS OLD old baby was a bit unsettle and my friend was trying to help settling her down walking around near the entrance of the restaurant area and a waitress (who seems to be in charge) told her to walk outside a bit because my baby was crying ! I can’t believe what I saw and heard. It was cold in the restaurant and she even ask my friend to take my baby a bit outside the restaurant area which is freezing cold and for a baby. We left the restaurant immediately. She can’t even tolerate a 4 months old baby. It was an awful experience and will never go back. Please think twice if you have a baby don’t visit as they are not very family friendly. Just very disappointed. Having dim sum in Chinese culture suppose to be an enjoyable meal with family but this restaurant can't even tolerate a baby. If so then they should make a sign that baby/child are not allowed.

Very nice lunchtime menu, £11.50 for three courses. Staff also very nice and friendly. They take cards, but not until you leave there's a sign that they only take card payment per £15 a head otherwise it's cash only. Luckily they took our card on this occassion but was asked for cash if we had it. Will return here as enjoyed it, and will just bring cash for an easy life, but in my opinion shouldn't be allowed to do this as not everyone carries cash in this day and age.
